Cameroon Pet animal export scam

Hi i think i have been hit by the same people as i went on the free ads and there was a bassett hound for adoption the number they gave me still works but he said can't here you email me. Yet i get no reply. He said he lives in Edinburgh, Scotland but the head office is in Cameroon and said please send money gram as accounts are under an audit.
I the puppy was supposed to have been sent by swiss air ( animal and livestock) international airways but their Customer service is closed and is run from an email address.
Do you think this is a scam from the same people? As swiss air international is a actual company! Please help!

Yes, it is a scam! How could it be anything else? You have never seen the animal you are supposed to be purchasing... how can you possibly know it exists?

Typical ploy, sending money via anonymous means which means it's gone and cannot be refunded.

If a stranger ask you to use Western Union or Money Gram, that's a sign that it's a scam.

I replied to an advert on a spanish website posted by a `kelly` willing to give her african grey parrot away for adoption... I came accross a number of `glitches` to the scam from the very begining >>> good thing the scammers cant speak good english.

This is what was sent to me... dodgy from the start.
from a "kellypethouse100@yahoo.com" claiming to live in Scotland yet requiring the money to be sent via western union to some dodgy old shack in Cameroon...

Thanks for the mail,the ipata pet delivery agency delivers animal round the globe okay.so you do not have to worry as they have a connecting flight with your airport and from there the parrots will be delivered at your home since they have your full home address professional pet carriers in the pet delivery van.so just make sure that you pay for the delivery fee to the agency first thing tomorrow morning so that they van proceed with the delivery of your parrots as i will not like the parrots to stay the whole day at the agency like they will charge a feeding fee okay.so just promise me that you will be sending recent pictures of the parrots so that i can know how they are doing in their new home.Please just email me back as soon as you receive the parrots.

Good intel jon, thanks for posting. There's little info you can get from this point as they have gone through each step right to the point of payment. Beyond here they will simply tell you pay. If you don't pay they will not respond to you.

On the other hand, they could then hit you with fake threats from the FBI.

I would just chalk this up to experience, a lucky escape, and stop communicating with the scum that they are.

Good luck on finding a bird, but dealing with a local merchant where you can actually see what you are buying is certainly the safest way to go.

It makes no difference Alicia, if you are attempting to purchase a pet from anyone purporting to be from or have associates in Cameroon Africa... IT IS A SCAM. You cannot import a pet into the USA on a whim, it is not possible. You are being asked to pay for something that does not exist.
