Lucky I found this site before paying....this scam is to adopt a capuchin monkey. Do not let yourself get hooked into this scam:

The search engines will soak that data up and it will for sure save someone from being scammed.

I had almost the same thing happen yesterday, I was looking for a baby Capuchin in the TX area and found an ad in TX that said they were selling capuchins for $2500, I e-mailed them and asked if they had any baby capucins available and I got an e-mail the next day from a kket89@yahoo.com saying that I could adopt one for free, they sent three pictures of an adorable baby capucin and said her name was Nina and she was 14 weeks old, and they even asked a lot of questions like am I a breeder, and do I have any kids, and where I was located, I told them I lived near Austin and I wanted to come out and see the monkey and I asked where they were located at and gave them my cell, and then they sent an e-mail back saying they were actually in New York but they could ship her to me, and they gave me an odd contact number 01123774212701, the spelling and grammer were bad, which raised some red flags, and I found it funny that they never gave their name at the end of the 3 e-mails they sent, it just says thanks..., then I realised somrthing was up. I checked around on some more sites and found the exact same picture of Nina that the person e-mailed me, it was on a different post from 6 months prior, I was like WTF, then I checked up on sites like this that talk about all the scammers out there saying they're selling monkeys but they just want to steal your money. now I knew it was a scam, and I e-mailed them back and told them this and they never replied, I won't buy any pet from anyone unless I can actually see them in person, this sucks. Now I feel like I want to go out and breed capuchins for all the people who got scammed like this, I would have a nice reputable buisness.

You might want to reconsider purchasing a capuchin as a pet in any case. They aren't as wonderful a pet as television and movies would have you believe. See the link in my signature.

I too was almost scammed. I was shocked that all the adds I looked at were scams. People are stealing pictures from a website called elams.org. I really wanted a capuchin money and got my kids really excited just to have to tell them that I can't find a legit seller. Hope no one else gets scammed. Now when I look I reference this site to see if their pics were used for ads.

Shelly, as I stated just above your post, you probably want to rethink the idea of a capuchin as a pet in any case. They do NOT make good pets, they are not permanently house trainable, they can and do get aggressive when they reach adulthood, and to boot, you and the person selling you one would almost certainly be in violation of the law.

That's assuming you can even find someone who HAS a monkey, as opposed to a scammer. Please read the link in my signature.

Hello, and thanks for the links. I appreciate them to some extent. I'll explain the concept behind Pet-Ads.ca for those that are interested.

Originally when in launched in 2005 it was $3.65 a year for members to use. Now we are not talking about an oridinary website here. It is geographically targeted and specialized. People using it are guaranteed to have eyes on ads and this forum post is no exception to that truth.

The months passed after launch and nobody seemed to be able to afford to pay the $3.65 a year to post ads. So then I did some more programming and opened the site up so that even anonymous users could post ads. They did in droves - with good and bad ads alike.

And they are still coming, lots of them. Being a keener though I had to make the best of the situation and in fact I have. This is where you may share a nice laugh with me because I'm still chuckling.

What wasn't so funny though was having to go back though all the questionable type ads and expire them all. If I ever have to do that again it will be too soon. So with that done and all questionable ads set expired they do not show on the main site pages.

So then along comes a potential customer and they post an ad without signing up. That ad is automatically set to expired. I of course can review the ad and if it doesn't follow my terms of service and or if payment is not made to run the ad it either gets shelved permanently as expired or converted to something useable.

When I convert a bad ad I basically put a little information in there on how to post ads on the site and get to have a little fun rewording the ads (ha ha). There is an interesting aspect to www.Pet-Ads.ca is that even though the expired ads don't show up on the site they still remain in the database with the original information intact. They are also still able to be referenced by the search engines.

Take for example the links above for www.Pet-Ads.ca. What I've done is alter the ads dynamically. I trucate the description and basically assign the rest of the ad information to myself. It works very very good from a webmaster and administrative perspective.

I'm proud to announce that Canadians and to some extent our Souther Cousins now have a safe and moderated place to advertise and write about their Pets. That is of course if they can afford the $50.00 a year membership cost or the $5.00 single ad cost for anonymous users. All new ads are still screened and moderated.

We heartily recommend that you meet any potential pet in person to make sure it is a good fit before offering it a home, and we definitely do NOT recommend attempting to adopt a monkey as a household pet. Online ads are a fine way to locate breeders and sellers in your area, but buying a pet completely online is not really recommended.

Frankly, buyers should beware of ANY offer to buy or adopt a monkey, regardless of the price. Anyone even THINKING of getting a monkey should read the article in my signature and the links about monkeys that are contained in the article. Monkeys, contrary to what most movies and television shows would have you believe, do NOT make good pets.

She has spectacular,Stunning,Gorgeous Fabulous Babydoll Face and Home raised,putty trained with a very good personality.she is very lovely,playfyll and she loves playing with kids and other house hold pets.she is very obedient.mischievous dose of
stubbornness, Tracie is incessantly loyal to its family. she usually gets along well with other animals,tracie is particularly fond of children.She is diapas trained and is well socialized too .

Here are some recent photos of her of most angles. She has really neat markings and is just going to look better and better. She has a nice flat face and sturdy/stocky look even at this young age. we are giving her out for free but you will just have to pay some money for transfer of ownership to you so that she will become yours ok.

She was one the best eaters we have ever had (some babies don't take the bottle very well). Best of all, Kiki is very sweet, loves her Daddy, and has one of the most even temperaments of any monkey we have ever raised. Even with pain from teething, she never cries or fusses and goes in and out of her box as she sees fit!
