Not a lot to go on is it?

Website address, company address? Context of the contact?

Help us with quality intel, and you'll get quality data back again.

I have searched Google for the company name you have said, and get zero hits.

Still not a lot to go on, but it already smells like a Benin Import License Scam.

The phone number is a mobile.

If you could post the email you received, it would be a big help to us.

If, for whatever reason, you don't want to do that, I would be happy for you to PM it to me. I have no business interest in Benin, and won't disclose the deal to anyone else.

Or, you could check it out yourself using our handy DIY Scam Email Checklist at http://www.fraudwatchers.org/checker/

The telephone number is a Mobile number on the BéninCell network.
As for the address, not really any more of a clue. The phrase 'Benin+"Sarl Organization"' brings back a few hits but all point to frauds as far as I can see.

If the alleged company is attempting to purchase products from you, how are they offering payment? Cheque? Money Orders? Wire Transfer? Is the person you are in communication with stating that they are currently in a different location, or that payment would be issued to you from someone else? Are they asking that a balance of the payment be sent somewhere else? Are they asking for an up-front payment for some reason?

There is still not really enough information here to say for sure that this may be a fraud, though the facts are stacking up on the side of caution.

** edit to add **
Also with what Frazzle said above, that's also something I was thinking.

Dear Milessat,

I just received a offer from the same comapany 2 weeks ago, and they are pushing me to forward the orders fast.

I don't have many information about this african company, so I would like to know if have you got any deals to them?

This has Benin Import scam written all over it.

If you have been informed that you won the bidding and they have placed a large order with your company, next will come a request that you send a fee for product registration with some government department or organization. It's a scam. There are no such registration. The whole purpose is to make you pay endless fees for various permits, licenses, barrister fees etc.., etc..,

You can see some examples of the fraud posted here: http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/...t=1666&page=11

You should know that transacting business with any West African countries is very risky, specially Benin, Nigeria, Togo and Cameroon. Some people find it preferable to avoid the whole region altogether.

They have no web presence.

The number 229 97 93 62 66 is a mobile.

I would insist on a landline phone number before proceeding. And then be careful.

If you had given us more information, we would be able to give a more definitive answer.

As I mentionned, ZAMAOTUE SARL BENIN does not exist. It's bogus.

All phone and fax are mobiles and all email addresses are from free webmail accounts including writeme.com. ALL ANONYMOUS.

That's a common tactic of scammers. Don't fall for it.
