"Darling Pair of Hyacinth macaw parrots" ad is a scam!!

My story is very similar to the other pet adoption scams out of Cameroon. Supposedly, a Reverend Ntuf Nfuh and Sister Julia from California in Cameroon on missionary work emailing us from <sister_juliapetshouse@yahoo.com> through the website <classifieds@animalweb.com> said they were desperately excited about giving their two ten month old hyacinth parrots to our loving home for free. The ad was titled, "Darling Pair of Hyacinth macaw parrots." After sending them 3 money increments over $1000 total, we recieved no birds or money back, just a broken promise from a supposed Reverend and good mother. They also sent a fake Doula Airport email which made them more believable at the time, but not if I had checked out this website first to found it a fraud. All the other ads on the animal website seemed to have area code 237 which is out of Cameroon, so I doubt the whole website is trustworthy; i just wanted to let everyone else know to not fall for it like I did

Hyacinth Macaw: The Largest parrot of the world endangered

The hyacinth macaw is found in lightly forested and seasonally flooded grasslands in Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay.

This magnificent blue and yellow hyacinth macaw grows to be 40 inches (1 m) long, is the largest species of macaw. Hyacinths can weigh over 4 pounds. The female and male are nearly indistinguishable although the female is more slender.

Hyacinth macaws mate for life. They are very sociable birds. Widow and widower macaws seek the society of a couple who apparently welcome them. As dusk falls the macaws gather in one spot to have company during the night.

Why is this species getting endangered?

Illegal pet trade is one of its worst enemies. Locals have been trapping and selling them as pets.

Macaws only make their nest by hollowing out the trunk of the rare mondavi tree, but pick only those which are more than 70 years old.

Hyacinths have two chicks at a time but reckon that only one will survive, so they desert the runt(weaker one).

Destruction of habitats to provide pasture land, deforestation, thoughtless felling of trees kills off macaws.

The come along with all thier supplies ,cage and papers. They have the playtoy on the cage, a separate large playstand plus a rope/hanging toy playground and toys everywhere And will be coming along with them. They have the playtop on the cage in the living room. Then in the dining/computer room they have a separate large playstand, ropes on the ceiling, hanging toys plus a small playstand on the table and toys everywhere you put them .

I saw this man's add and I thought he was from toronto, which is the city i live in. I emailed him asking how much he is asking for the birds. He didnt email me with a price. This is what he wrote:

-- I found this very strange. Why would someone with a pair of Hyacinth Macaws not ask for anything. I figured he just wanted the money for the shipping which was even more strange. So i googled his name (Howard Bristol (howard_bristol@yahoo.com)) and the company he says he works with. There was no match. I then i came across this forum. Thank you so much for posting this. I hope no one else falls into his sick trap.

Beware of Jason Nguyen(jason4nguyen@gmail.com)Claiming to have 2 baby african greys.Says he is in Malta.Tel.numbers being used 00237 7720 5983 and 00237 7510 4245.Even says his birds don't need to go into quarantine to be delivered to the UK!Doh!!!!After lots of e-mails and me asking too many questions lol.he has stopped e-mailing now.I wonder why???:

Thank you for your welcome to Fraudwatchers.After reading a lot of the posts,these baby african greys must have to elbow a lot of room in a shower 'cos they also "like going on a ladder and the look in their eyes tells it all as the warm water runs over them".I must have a wicked sense of humour 'cos I have got this mental picture of a naked man in the shower wiv ladders everywhere and on the ladders are every different bird you can think of,all going glassy eyed wiv the warm water running down their backs.Must be a bit cramped in there.And still no replies to my e-mails.

I replied to an ad on oodle for an African Grey, after about ten emails back and forth and a sob story about it belonging to his dead daughter and him being out of the country they wanted me to send money w/o ever seeing the bird. phillodonell114788@yahoo.com was out of the country and he had me email his cousin jason4nguyen@gmail.com... dont send them money it is a SCAM!!!
