I hope this helps.

The Chinese Scam from Guilin and elsewhere

Everything here is true, I went to Guilin, lured by the lucrative contract, as you see above no goods were sent so where was the problem? Please see my posting elsewhere on this site which gives the full story of how the scam works, http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/...ad.php?p=71618

I have also managed to post a couple of photographs of two of the key men of the organsiations involved. They keep changing the names of the company, but the names I know include;
Guanxi Union, Guilin Union, Guilin Youlian, Guilin Dongxin, Lyon International, Liang Touzi, Guanxi Kangyuan, Guilin Shenjing, Guilin Youlianshiye, Guilin Zho To, Guilin Changlong, Guilin Hua Neng, Guilin Shengwei, Guilin Tenghui, the latest names being Yinglian Universal Trading and Guilin Yolon.

Similar, but less sophisticated scams also operate from Zhengzhou, Xi'an, and now many other Chinese cities. Please remember - if it looks too good to be true then it is...

Indications are that it's a scam judging from the paragraph I quoted above, and also from one of their message (posted here) sent to a prospect less than a month after the registration of their domain.

Their site is barely a month old, registered for a single year, and the WHOIS registration details appear incomplete or bogus. That's a couple of red flags.

No concrete detail about the company or it's history can be found on their site.

Quote:
At present, the company diversified mode of operation, has self-, import and export agent for sale, re-export trade and so on, running a wide range Main Electronics, hardware, machinery, building materials, chemicals, handicrafts, native products, technology, printing, crafts, manufacture and so on. Exports more than 30 countries and regions, one of the main as follows: Asia, Europe, Africa, the Americas and so on.
Those claims would make this a multi-million dollar business yet they can't even afford a dedicated fax line.

It looked like a scam to me, but I couldn't figure out where they would make any money. Then they sent over a contract, boiler plate normal stuff. 50% down, letter of credit at the bank for shipping date etc. They wanted the contract notorized, I have had to do this often in recent years, so no flag. Went down to the local bank and did that. No, they want me to come to China, and do it in person. Said I was very busy, could they come over here, I would put them up, show them the business. No, not convienent for them. I ended up getting the tickets visa etc. but I stopped at the last second, where do they make money off of this. Is it a scam?

Read some of the links here:
http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/...ad.php?t=10377
The scam is they will ask you for gifts etc... once you are in China. If they keep insisting you travel to China then yes it's a scam.

I have just canceled my tickets, I was supposed to leave tomorrow. I have not received a valid business ID from them. I have a call into the US Embassy in China, for more info. They also won't tell me what the NOTARY FEE is. I assume it will 1% of the total order. Which to me is bogus.

China Langfang Jinyilong Commerce Co., Ltd.

Contacts are Wang Hao & Alice Du.
They keep insisting that I come over to China to sign the contract. I was on the way and decided at the last moment that it was a scam. I have talked with a few people that do business in China, and the meeting is normal, they like that but the paying a notary fee, no one has heard that. I believe that that is the scam, they won't tell me what the fee is. That must be where they make there money. Hardly any concrete info on there website. So, I don't know for sure, but I am not going over to find out at this time.,

Thank you, that's interesting. With this type of scam I've only heard them asking for upfront fees as a last resort when someone refuses to travel.

They request a price list - I OK this.
They come back with an order of $400k of stock.
I suggest they should buy a sample lot first ~$15k
They are firm - they want $400k... who am I to argue.
I suggest 100% prepayment - they say 50% - we agree on 80%
Now they want me to visit them to sign an agreement.
OK - $3000 for the round trip isn't a lot of $ - but the week spent??? would be OK if my spidy senses weren't tingling.

I've asked for their DUNS#, company registration # ... still waiting.

Is my experience common?
Am I overly cautious? .
I welcome informed comments

Maybe we can have a coffee together if you are in Melbourne some time.
Did they mention a Notary fee when signing the document in China? I have had the same type of inquiry. They won't do the contract unless I come to china to personally sign it and pay a notary fee. IF the notary fee is 1% and the amount is 1,000.000.00 that is 10,000.00 out of your pocket.

Thank you, your website is extremely helpful and very valuable. I learned so much in the last day. These scams are unreal....I still can't believe that they would go through all this trouble.

Cool First order over$500,000

I too have recieved order from Hebei Langfang Jinylong Commerce Co. LTD from Lanfang City, Hebei New Century Street, Second Street Walk
Tel 0086-0316-8137513
The emails are from Song Zhiping with a return email address of jylsm88666@126.com

They send a very plain contract with no letter head no address etc. It looks very real and then you get to the part where they want you to pay 50% of a Notarial fee. They have sent me several revisions and wre willing to change anything you want to get the order processed.
They have all the registration numbers etc and can answer most all questions to your satisfaction.

The problem is why would a Company in China buy product from a USA Company that would be several times higher than what the product could be purchased from in China. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Be very careful
