Our researcher considered this particular advertisement quite interesting, so did a little reading into this type of Falcon. To test the knowledge of the scammer, the following questions were asked, which you will have guessed by reading the responses so far. Here are the questions in full.

A pure Gyr is worth a great deal more than a mere £1,000. From basic research on the net, newborn chicks cost up to £800. But a pair of 4 year old Falcons for a grand each? :laugh:

You may have noticed that the answers to lengths and weights have been answered in a mixture of imperial and metric measurements. This is likely to be a copy & paste from different sources, or a deliberate attempt to confuse the researcher. Lets normalise those figures into one system, metric.

• Age: 4 years
• Height: 60 cm
• Wingspan: 91.4 cm
• Weight: 822 g

Actual measurements (source: wikipedia [link])

• Height: (Male) 48-61 cm | (Female) 51-65 cm
• Wingspan: (Male) 110-130 cm | (Female) 124-160 cm
• Weight: (Male) 805-1350 g | (Female) 1180-2100 g

Even a quick glance at the quoted measurements with actual ranges and you can see very quickly that the Male & Female have quite stunted wingspans, and the Female is vastly underweight. I would wager that a real Female at this age with such a low weight would be quite unwell. * (discalimer: no experts here, if a Gyr Falcon expert would like to share some real data, we would be glad to hear.)

The scammer of course has no clue, and naturally doesn't have any real birds anyway. Let's see the rest of the responses from the scammer.

done at the shipping agancy.

As for my own payment you will have to pay me £500 first before
delivery and when they get to your then you pay me the rest £1500 for
my balance.
