CALIFORNIA SUPERLOTTO AFRICA SCAM WARNING

http://www.calottery.com/ConsumerAle...icaLottery.htm

The California Lottery would like to alert its customers to a lottery scam being circulated via email by a fraudulent group or individual operating under the name California SuperLotto Africa.

California SuperLotto Africa falsely claims to be affiliated with the California Lottery and distributes unsolicited emails that inform recipients that they have won a lottery jackpot.

These emails are fraudulent and designed to either con you out of your money or gain access to personal or financial information. Consumers should never respond to these emails or forward them.

The California Lottery does not notify winners by email or any other method when they win an official California Lottery prize. Individuals who believe they have won a jackpot must contact the Lottery and file a claim in person with the Lottery in order to receive their prize.

California SuperLotto Africa is not affiliated, authorized or sanctioned in any way by the California Lottery. The California Lottery is a governmental agency that operates only within the State of California. The California Lottery does not maintain or operate any offices outside California, the United States or in Africa.

Remember, this email is a scam. Do not fall victim to it. Anyone receiving an email from this group or one similar to it is encouraged to contact the California Lottery's Security/Law Enforcement Division at 1-800-LOTTERY.
