Thumbs down Euro Millones Loteria

Hi Folks,
Yes the title is spelt correctly, according to the paperwork i received through my letter box. My question is as follows, Is it or is'nt it? Sound familiar? Of course it does, it's a bit like TO BE OR NOT TO BE?
Well in this instance, i can smell a rat. I may be wrong but i think not, but if i am please accept my appologies.
Please note the mail did come through my letter box & not through email, but i most certainly think it is worth bringing it to your attention. Ok, i can hear you saying, for petes sake just get on with it, alright i will.
Are you sitting comfortably? then i'll begin.

Date ; 16th April 2007.
REF NO; EML/554/GH7/940/SXT. Euromillones Loteria
BATCH NO; IPD/1305/446/07.

PLAZA JUON CARLOS C-14541
MADRID. SPAIN.
TEL: 0034 605 338 961
FAX: 0034 911 010 699
FROM THE DESK OF THE VICE PRESIDENT.
INTERNATIONAL PROMOTION/PRIZE AWARD

ATTENTION: BENEFICIARY
AWARD NOTIFICATION.
This is to inform you on the release of the EUROMILLONES LOTERIA INTERNATIONAL program held on 31-3-2007. Due to a mix up of some numbers and names, the results were released on the 16-4-2007.Your name attached to ticket number***-****-*** with serial number ***-** drew the lucky numbers of **-**-**-**-**-** which consequently won the lottery in the 3rd category.
You have therefore been approved for a lump sum payout of GPB 785,790.00 ( SEVEN HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FIVE THOUSAND "Bla Bla Bla" POUNDS in cash credited to file with Ref No "as above" This is from a total cash prize of GPB 13,358,430430.00 "Bla Bla Bla" AND THIRTY POUNDS). Shared among the seventeen (17) international winners in their respective categories. CONGRATULATIONS.

"Due to a mix up of some numbers & names" These people have asked me to keep this award from public notice until my claim has "been processed and money remitted to" my account as this is part of their "security protocol, to avoid double claiming or unwarranted taking advantage of this programme by participants".

I have since sent I.D. by way of Photocopy of my passport, just to dig out more names and numbers of these people, and this has worked bacause these people are so keen to get their hands on £1,250.00 of my money that i can ill afford, that they have started to slip up. And given me more contact numbers and names. I still have until 26th May to claim my winnings?? But i thought in letting people know about this before the due date, we may or the Spanish Authorities may be able to nobble them in the act.
At your discretion i can supply these names and numbers. These people do'nt frighten me, although they may be quite powerful, but they need to be stopped, they are preying on many innocent, hard working and sometimes, retired, frail and timid people.
I hope that my input will help in some small way, to stamp out and at least stop some of these undesirables from getting their hands on other peoples money, and if not put away, at least go out and do an honest days work for once in their lives. Though the latter I doubt very much.
Yours Sincerely
djman.

Euro Millones Loteria

Hello Djman,

I dont'n know if I am richer or poorer than you, I won 815,950.-- EURO today! What currency, of which country, are the "GPB" you won? Is it GB?
Normally I throw away similar letters after the first glance at them, but this one I received by letter post today seems really a serious one, it's nearly the same words as the one you received, also from the Euromillones Loteria International S.L. I already begun to write my job-dismissal and make plans for the future ... but it was too good to be true, so I went in the web and found a lot of pages warning of them - and breaking my dreams.

To Tammera:
I read in an other web site that, if it was a postal letter you received (there are e-mails too), you could bring it to the nearest police office, so they perhaps can take fingerprints on the envelope or the letter, or whatelse they can perhaps find out. I don't yet know if I'll do that.
There are lots of examples here: http://www.joewein.de/sw/419lottery-by-mail.htm, where you can also send a copy of your "winning letter".

A poster wrote he sent them the fax number of the FBI. I think I'll do something similar: perhaps I'll send them the Name and address of Santa Claus in Fablewood or of Dracula in Transsylvania, hi hi. They can transfer the cash to Hell's Bank, Account no 666, in Avalon (that mythic island in the sagas of King Arthur).

It was toooo good to be true ...
Sincerely,
Wanda

Ranjeet, the post is an example of a lottery SCAM. You can't participate in or win a lottery that doesn't exist.

No, you have not won Freelotto's jackpot
Thinking of getting a cat, dog or monkey?

Thinking of buying from a Chinese/Hong Kong seller? Have you done your homework?
So you've been scammed by a Chinese seller. Now what?
