Yorkie Puppy Adoption Scam!!!!!!

Do not reply to an e-mail from Susan Berkly, susana007@skim.com. She posts ads claiming to have moved to Cameroon due to her husband being transfered with an airline company. She fears for her yorkies health and wants to get the puppy out of Cameroon as quickly as possible. She will tell you that all you have to pay is the customs fee $100. You will send the money to a person claiming to be the manager of Camairpets Pet Heealth Care and Custom Department, Achiri Ngu (camairpets@yahoo.com). They will give you the info to send Moneygram or Western union. Once you have sent the money, they will tell you that you puppy will be going out on some imaginary flight, and then, they will tell you the puppy has a lay over in Charles De Gaulle International Airport, Paris, France. Once there, they will notify you and tell you that Air France will be taking over from this point on. Someone from Air France Paris will contact you, air_francepetspassport@yahoo.com, and tell you that you need to pay a $300 refundable insurance fee. They will want you to send the cash up front by Western Union or Money Gram once again. DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!! No company should ever ask you for cash up front on something like that. Every airline carries its own insurance policy. You do not have to pay for it, and if you do, it will not cost that much and it will be optional. The two different companies had the same style e-mail also. Just the logos were different. Air France will try to convince you they are legit and get offended when you deny their validity. The lady, Susan Berkly, will try to make you feel guilty by telling you that she would never do such a scam, that they are "God-fearing" people, that she trusted you to take good care of the puppy, and so on. Eventually, the e-mails will stop. I did not think anything of this scam until they asked for a refundable insurance fee in cash upfront. I had my other puppy shipped, and know that is not how it works. I hope this e-mail helps someone and prevents any further scamming by these people. Remember, if this sounds like your scenario, but not the same names, it probably is still a scam!!!!

Yorkie Scam

Thanks for your story, because there are several adds placed in various newspapers via the Internet stating that they are missionaries in Africa and currently do not have time for their puppy or there is an issue with the climate. I noticed that one potential seller was suppose to be in Africa, but we were in the same time zone. Also, the funds were to be wired via Western Union to Lagos, Nigeria, but I had no knowledge of the carrier or contact with the representative who was suppose to be handling everything. I have received three responses to from individuals that are doing Missionary work in Africa with Yorkie puppies that are 6-12 weeks old, however, the new owner will only be responsible for shipping. I find this very ironic and unfortunately, it is all a scam, so buyers please beware!

Yorkie Scam

The same thing happened to me 2 days ago! Today, I was doing some background work on the "missionary". Most people you can google their name and soemthing comes up. This is a lady claiming to be a missionary in Africa. Her name is Amanda Brut. I'm so glad I found these postings! Last night I sent her an email telling her that I would take care of the shipping arangements to avoid a 3rd party, if she could get the dog to the local airport. She has not replied. Before I offered this suggestion, she was quick to send pics of a 10 week old Yorkie that she calls Timi, and reply to other emails. I'm a cautious person, but I do have a huge heart for animals - so I was trying to validate her story. Again, thank you for sharing! You saved me money and heartache!

Yorkie Scam

I am a 19 year old college student wanting a Yorkie. I was contacted by a Jones White claiming to have a Yorkie Puppy, that he needed to give up because the conditions in Cameroon and the food was not acceptable for the little puppy and he felt that the puppy would die if he did not give it away to a new home. I corresponded with him for a few days and he said that I would be a good owner for the Yorkie. Being young and inexperienced I believed him. They talked as if they were very concerned about the puppy. I was then told that I needed to send 100.00 Thru Western Union or Money Gram to register the puppy in my name. They asked me what name I wanted on the paperwork. I sent the money to a Fru Emmanuel in 410 Staurt Place, Donala, Littoral. Phone Number: 00237-9905706. I sent them the money. I then recieved conformation from Cameroon Airlines web site : (camairlinespets@mail.com) about the puppy's take off status. The puppy was suppose to be sent to France. In France, the Air France airlines (airfrancepetsinsurance@yahoo.com) the puppy then needed Insurance Papers and I needed to send 200.00 and that would be refunded to me. I sent them 200.00 thru Money Gram. To a Lun Ernestine at the same address. After after a few days I still had not recieved the puppy. They claimed that the weather was bad and the puppy could not be shipped out. They said that they needed 250.00 to rent a special crate for the puppies storage, 3000.00 to buy the crate, or I could buy one and send it to them. I checked the weather in France and the weather was perfect for travel. I contacted them and they said that I needed to send the money because if I did not, the puppy would have to either be terminated, sent to a pound, or sent to a zoo. I contacted Jones White (joneswhite@yahoo.com) and they seemed concerned and even offered to send 100.00 for the puppies crate and I will have to send the rest. They kept on appoligizing and seemed concerned about the puppy. I asked them why the puppy did not need a crate from Cameroon to France, but now needed a crate. I did not hear from Jones White for about one week, she emailed me asking me if I recieved the puppy yet. She claimed that her son just died and she was not able to email me about the puppy. I told her no and that this was a scam. I told her that I would sue her and she would be hearing from my lawyer. I did not hear from her for another week and I got a email from (pets.deliverman@easyla) from a Brandon Jones. He said that he has my puppy and it is in Miami Fl. and that he would deliver it to my doorstep for more money. I told him that I lived close to Miami and offered to pick up the puppy myself (I knew it was a scam) I questioned him about the spelling mistakes just as Jones White and he argued saying that he was a professional God fearing businessman. I asked him if he was a professional then why does he not know how to spell. I never heard from them again. If you are looking for a dog, DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY WITHOUT GETTING A DOG FIRST!!!

Thumbs down OMG ME TOOOOOOOOO!

I can not believe this!!! In my little hometown newspaper(it only comes out once a week). There was an ad for a yorkie along with an email address: brad_jackson112@yahoo.com My family especially my young daughter has been wanting a yorkie for Mommy forever. I emailed Brad-guess what he is a minister in West Africa. Claimed to be working with the Christ Embassy and could not take care of his "baby". I told him we are very intersted and even praised him for doing his missionary work! I researched Christ Embassy. They are real. I asked for pictures and got the sweetest ones back. We had plans to Western Union the money on Monday. When I was looking at yorkies in general online I discovered the news of the scam. My daughter is going to be heartbroken-me too. Why are people so mean? I am wondering how many others emailed Pastor Brad. I plan on talking to the Sheriff tomorrow to at least warn others. Thanks for letting me vent.

You won't need to see the pictures. Anyone claiming to export animals from Cameroon is a scammer. We've got a very extensive thread on such scams here

http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/...t=cameroon+pet

and it's our understanding that export limitations on animals pretty much preclude anyone being able to legally sell animals from Cameroon.

Thumbs up Buyer Beware!!!!

Thank's to this site I didnt become a victim of this obvious scam. It looked to good to be true so I did some research only to discover that it is to good to be true! Seem's to me these scammer's post in every state in the USA, use a yahoo address, and advertise at estia.com. Most ads for adoption seem to be very similar and some ads actually post the same picture for a different ad.
Here is the response I received when inquiring about their prices on birds and egg's.

Thumbs down Rev Amanda Strikes again

The same thing happened to me, and I ALMOST bought it. The yorkie she claims to be "giving up" because she cant care for it it timi, and she also sent me pictures. Her new partner is Bunmi Wellenton. The only reason I picked up on the red flag was because they both used similar styles of speech. I bet they are one in the same. BEWARE!! Thanks to everyone who took time to post a response. This saved me 280$ and a whole lot of heartache.

I WAS SCAMMED!!!!!!!!!!! $400 dollars later and I have been waiting for my "puppy" for over a year!! Don't do it!! I am telling you, don't make the same mistake. Don't buy a puppy unless you see it or actually speak to the breeder. If I were you I would go local. Just so that you see the email I received and hopefully it can help you out, but I don't recommend doing it. Soon after I was scammed, I saw on Dateline, that Nigeria is the # 1 scamming country in the world. This is actually a business that they run for all sorts of things.

TEXT Q
TEXT ANS
TRACKING NUMBER(MTCN)

So that i can give it to the secetary to cash it immediately, because the manager told me once his secretary confirms the payment the puppy will be ship in two working days.
Thanks hope to read back from you very soon

AND THEN I GOT THIS EMAIL.

Hello Crystal,
The money has been confirmed, the shipping fees have been paid to the airline for immediate shipment of the baby.Meanwhile,a slight problem occured at the airport this morning. The baby are held by the Custom and they said the baby will have to be registered with them Quarantine free and also the Custom Licence and Clearance will have to be issued so that the baby will not be Quarantined for six month when she get to the state.I talked to the Custom Manager inorder to finalize the whole thing so as to get the baby can be shipped immediately and they said it will cost $350 to obtain the Custom Licence and Clearance as well as the Quarantine fee.I have looked around for help and no one seems to be in a better position to help me with some amount of money not untill i went to my pastor who could only afford to give me $230.I have also deposited the $230 with the Custom as part of the payment and i decided to notify you so you can help with the balance of $120 so i can get back to the airport immediately. The baby is still at the airport waiting to be shipped to her new home and the custom told me that the baby will be released for shipment once the fees are being paid. Please,i want you to get back to me as soon as you can with the balance of the Custom fees so i can get the babies on the next flight.I will be waiting to read from you
asap.

UNFORTUNATELY, after completing the steps that I needed to, I never heard again after several emails I sent to this person.

GoodLuck in your search and be careful.

yorkie scam

I wish I had found this web site a few days ago. About a week ago, I been receiving and sending emails from a woman who stated she had a yorkie to give away because she could not keep it. I told her I would take it, she replied back she would need $110.00 for shipment and adoption fees, of course the address was in Cameroon. I stupidly sent her the money and contact information. My son wanted a puppy and I believed the lady. Now, she states the puppy is in government custody and needs more money for a deposit on a crate due to the climate conditions for the puppy to be shipped in. I will not be sending her money, but someone keeps calling me from a 237 area code. I feel so stupid for believing her story. I had even asked her if this was a scam, she stated I could trust her. Yeah right!!

Cameroon Yorkie Scam

This was one scam posted by Ceser Cara....

Hello Thanks for the mail,
My puppies are well trained, Registered,House broken, potty trained
and love the companion of grown ups, kids and house hold
pets.Well, I will like to ask you the following questions. Then get
back to me as soon as you can with answers and questions if you have any:.
-Have you ever lived with a yorkie puppy before or any other puppy?
-do you have an acre of land, or again where they can always play around?
-Are you aware of the love and attention that yorkies need?
-is every one in your home fully committed to the adoption of a new pet?
-what about if you know any good vet in your area?
-Where exactly are you located?
the reason i wanna give them out for adoption is because, i am a volunteer and since my daughter passed away,i don't find it easy to keep the puppies and continue my job since my job warrants me to travel more often than not, so i wan striving towards closing the animal farm that my daughter left before she passes away. So all our pets are up for adoption now, you can see pictures and more on our website www.elen.iifree.net. Right now we are presently on a Volunteer mission for the W.H.O for the fight against Malaria Parasite on pregnant Women in a small Country Called Cameroon. We decided to Volunteer and work with W.H.O is our priority for now since we loved helping Sick people. I am from Bellflower California. My duty here is tight up, that is why i even regret bringing the babies over with me since we got this job and moved with them to Cameroon i hardly spent adequate time loving and caring for them. I am really disturbed since love and concern is what they where spoiled rotten with my daughter when she was alive. Hence i have decided to give them out to any loving and caring home(s) out there which will show them lots of love and concern and care properly for them. All you need to do to get them is simply paying their transportation fees to your location, and you will have to email to let me know how they are doing and equally send me pictures of the puppies at your home once every month. If you agree to accomplish all these, then i will be very ready to give them out to you,and they will be coming with some playing toys, health guarantee, crate, papers and even with food menu. I will be waiting to read back from you. I will very much give out these puppies for free adoption as soon as possible in order to also reduce my work load.
Waiting on your humble response.

This one was good....Used the sympathy card of his daughters death.

Here's another one from Isis Barnes...

Hi there,
thanks for the mail. Mark, Matt and Rema are the three available puppies out of four (2males and a female), they are hand raised and home trained with all papers, has been fully checked, AKC tested and have a good relationship with other pets and well trained too they are close ringed..closed bonded and vet checked with up to date vet records.they are ready to go for adoption with free puppy crate and toys.i am looking for a good home and will meet up any requirements if need to be shipped. They are micro chipped, will come with a pedigree and 12weeks old. They are AKC registered..They will be going out for free adoption and a free crate and other accessories and all you need to pay is the shipping fee . I am giving them for adoption because i am here for an assignment and my job requires a lot of time so i immediately realized that they are going to be lonely and as you know they are very delicate creatures and need a lot of care and devotion and that is why i have decided to give them out to a loving and caring home where they will be loved and will be given all the time they need so if you are interested.get back lets see how they get home..where are you located and How soon do you want the puppies?, how many? and if needs to be shipped, then get back to me with your full address and the address of the closest airport to your location so that i should contact the shipping agency right away for flight reservation as i will be shipping them from the Republic of Cameroon . get back asap. awaiting your reply

And another one from Randol Talk...

And another one from Natascia Brown.....

hello
thanks for your mail
below are the pictures of my yorkie puppy She is 7weeks of age and has a spunky personality.Meet delicate, precious, feisty, curious, little micro T-cup Saffrron. I know I know, those adjectives are not usually used in the same sentence. However they best describe our little "diva" Saffron. She truly is oh soooo tiny and delicate, yet she has a "larger than life" personality. Saffron has a feisty, "stand her ground" attitude to get her toy or your attention. No doubt Saffron will melt hearts where ever she goes. Her stunning appearance will be the first to be noticed and then her whimsical feisty attitude will be the clincher. You will simply sit back and laugh at her funny shenanigans! Saffron is a pure bred Yorkshire terrier, registered nationally with the prestigious AKC-American Kennel Club. She weighs only 2/3 of a lb. at almost 8 weeks of age.References available.
Please email or call for more information. Shipping is additional. We
take great pride in providing you with a healthy well-socialized
puppy. and $100 including shipping hand line and delivery charges from Cameroon where am located if okay mail me back to me so that i can tell you the next step

yokomama,

Thanks for the data. Did they advertise any contact details, like email addresses? Posting those too would be a great help as people searching the internet will pick them up and come here to read about the scams. It may help someone else avoid being taken in by these scum.

To mess with them i emailed back that i wanted to buy it and they then responded:

Dear
Thanks for your interest , sure the puppy is still available for adoption,Timbos is 11 weeks old the puppy health is %100 OK! (+1year health Guarantee), 1st shots, AKC registered, de-wormed,de-clawed. My Baby is so animated and will keep you entertained for hours. She really had her own distinct personality.Loving and veryaffectionate personalities are standard with other animals. She is very affectionate and like to give kisses all the time. This Female pup presently weighs about 2.6 lb and will estimated to weigh between3lb to 4lbs at maturity. I will have the puppy ship along with her certified health certificate, vaccination and worming record, copy of USDA paper, AKC registration application for the puppy, its pedigree and your puppy's guarantee.also the airline ticket, an approved carrier with a soft, comfortable bed, health certificate from my vet, a puppy pack including sample food pup has been eating, a tube of nutri-cal,I also include a special gift to you from me.Everything you will need will be taped to the top of your puppy's cage, the puppy is free as all you could pay me is if you take very good care of the baby .she right now with us cus i am in West Africa on a Christian mission ,i have the puppy right here with me.We are going to ship to you via express delivery on next day delivery after payment to a shipping agent at the airport, so if you are interested in having the puppy, i want you to get back to me with your full name, address including the nearest airport to you. Please if you know that you are not going to take very good care of my baby, do not reply me because i am not giving because of bad condition or anything i am only giving this puppy out because we don't have time to take care of the puppy again due to the mission work before us here. She is priceless therefore she will be going for free, so i will like you to get back to me with your full name and full address including your nearest airport so that i can find out shipping,I want you to
know that you are paying for the shipping cost only and not the yorkie.attached is her picture.

I sent them an email in response to an ad in our local paper. As soon as she replied it just sounded too fishy so I googled it and found this page. I notified our paper and they removed the add from the internet. You can't trust anyone these days.
