paypal vs escrow

I have never dealt with this supplier before and it is on ali so not via ebay.
It is via chinapost.
Chinapost does not cover for lost parcels.
The escrow option that I filled out asks for 20 dollars more and there is also an option for paypal. What is the safer option. I do not care much about paying 20 more if it is safer.
I read the sticky on paypal and it seems not to be very safe outside ebay? But what can escrow do that paypal does not? Banktransfer would be like throwing him money and telling him to keep it.

Who is offering Escrow? Alibaba? The Supplier?

A bona-fide Escrow service will protect your money until you confirm delivery. Do not use ANY service 'suggested' by a supplier, it is unlikely to be genuine, especially if you are instructed to go outside the B2B environment you are using.

You do need to make sure your supplier is genuine before you even attempt to make a payment. Have you done due diligence yet? Read the due diligence article in my signature before going any further.

What goods are you buying?

he went from ali to hotmail

Hello friend,

Your order awaits confirmation but I'm afraid we can't do this since there will be an extra bank charge of 20usd when the money gets released to us. so my suggestion is you can send the money to us via PAYPAL, bank transfer, western union or moneygram. what do you think?

The price includes free normal shipping

Thanks & best regards

Sounds dodgy, but do tell us who you are dealing with & products. The more info you share the better our information back to you. Don't hold on to info, it doesn't help anyone except a potential criminal.

She definitly wants to look like a big firm but she is only one trader.
That however does not say she is a scammer, it just a chinese thing I guess.
She has sold some via another company around 100 or so and one bad experience only. so a near 100%

another site under same name will mufontah http://resources.alibaba.com/resourc...n220023863.htm unicway

The price each was between .5 and 2 dollar ea inclusive shipping worldwide however when I asked she quoted 2.5 dollar ea and shipping is via chinapost.
I have others lined up with similar price but had already made an escrow buy offer with this one when all this went on. Can I get out of that deal without getting bad rep on ali? She has not confirmed as she does not really want to pay via escrow since it costs a bit more.
