AFWOODNTHINGS & CO.LTD / Scam Fraud

Magee Hanson
African Hard wood(AFWOODNTHINGS & CO.LTD)
124 River Side Rd, Limbe,
South West Province,
CAMEROON-CM,
TEL:00237-9317-6314 OR +237-9317-6314
E-mail:afwoodnthings@hotmail.com

We found this supplier on alibaba.com, and it sells wood logs.
Actually, we've signed contract (total amount: € 20000, trade term: CIF, payment term: 20% by T/T and 80% by L/C).
We've already paid 20% by t/t, and after that we kept contacting with each other by email and telephone.
We thought everything was going on well until two weeks ago, he requested extra fee (€ 1300), he said he can't find a 40' container to load the log shipment, and the only solution is that we have to wire this extra fee or he can't do anything!

We argued because the contract is signed under CIF term, so this shouldn't be buyer’s responsibility.

Then, we told him we will find our own forwarder, so we will need him to give us the quotation by FOB term.

The seller insisted us to wire money because he spent out all the 20% deposit on logging, and he also claimed that he has signed a business contract with his forwarder, so we couldn't use our own.

He sent us photos of logs and told us they were taken few days ago to proved that he really had logs cut. We checked the photo files with some simple steps then we found out the pictures were actually taken last year!

He kept asking money, we told him that there’s no way we will wire the money to him, the best we can do is we will add the extra fee into L/C.

He told us that we need to transfer the money by western union and the details as below:

AMOUNT---------------------------------------------1,300Eur
RECEIVERS NAMES------------------------------MR.ACHUO MAXWEL ABANG
RECEIVER COUNTRY-------------------------- CAMEROON
ZIP CODE-------------------------------------------+237
TEST QUESTION----------------------------------WHAT
TEST ANSWER------------------------------------FEES

We started to doubt about this seller, and we ask him to give us the name of his forwarder, he gave us a link as below:
http://atlanticsurfmarine.com/

The page looks well, but we copied the first paragraph from its introduction then paste it to Google, we found another website has almost the same introduction like his. See here: http://www.malgroup.in/home.html

So we need to make sure this wood log supplier is true or not!

Thank you for your assistance and we are really appreciated.
Best Regards,

ALL offers from Cameroon posted on the Internet that we've seen have been scams. ALL of them without exception, and we've seen thousands. Cameroon does not export most products advertised, in most cases they can't even supply their own needs due to wide-spread corruption partly responsible for their dismal infrastructures. Cameroon's main export appears to be Internet fraud. Here's an example of the type of thieves behind this fraud http://www.419scammersexposed.com/da...tegory.php?c=3

@ Linda328 In addition to all that you have been told, please note that ANY request that money be sent via Western Union or MoneyGram indicates a scam. Please read: http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/..._western_union Additionally, no legitimate company uses a free email address and does not have a website. Read http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/...pg=fw_scamsite
