Hey!

I ordered some shoes from happyusd.com. I paid them with PayPal, because I've heard that it's safe. (?). When I paid, I got a e-mail from them, saying that they got the money. And that they will send the shoes right away, and give me a transaction number the day after, so I should've received it yesterday. The thing is that I've not received the transaction number yet. I even talked to them on msn, and they said they were busy and stuff like that. I sent the money to aiouluosi007@yahoo.com, and I think it is a verified account.

I thought I've done something stupid, so I searched for happyusd. And I only found link to this site.

You see, I do now know very much about PayPal. And do you think I can get my money back if I don't get the item? Please guys, I need some advice.

Thanks

You would need to contact PayPal to file a dispute. You can only recover money if there is anything left in the receiving account, and most scammers will be quick to withdraw it. So it is not really a safe payment method.

The site is too slow for me to access, so I can't check if they seem likely fraudulent or not. But if you were buying fake Nikes or something from China, you are pretty much always likely to get ripped off.

Thanks for the fast reply.. So all about buyer's protection and stuff like that only applies if you buy from eBay? Can't I do anything else?
And which payment method is safe to use with these kinds of sites?

PayPal's protection over eBay is better, yes. You can still file a dispute and hope you get lucky though.

Paying by credit card or escrow.com is quite safe.

So can we feel more comfortable if we are dealing with a "china exporter" that accepts credit cards?
Has anyone dealt with any of these....
www.nike21cn.com
www.intonike.com
www.ruimchina.com - this one accepts Credit Cards

When you pay by credit card you can at least do a chargeback in case they do not deliver. But if you are buying fake Nike shoes or similar, you can never feel safe. Counterfeit items are illegal to trade in, they may be seized by customs and destroyed, and you may end up with legal problems. "Safe" payment methods also makes you more easily traced by law enforcement.
