I have come across an individual who is needing me to accept packages(computers) from Fed Ex, and then resend them to him in Egypt. Does anyone know what this is about? Is this legal or not?? THANKS!!

I responded to a ad just like it on monster.com in july 2005.
My wife got charged with 2 counts of credit card fraud.
Had to deal with the FBI and local police. Bail cost 1500 bucks
The charges were eventuality droped but she still has 2 felenies on here record.

This is what is commonly known as the "Mule" scam, where scammers buy goods using stolen or fake credit card details, and use the "mule"'s name and address to get them shipped to. Once received, the victim is then instructed by the scammers to send it to other people/addresses - these are either accomplices in the fraud, or (much more rare) "buyers" from online auctions etc. who have agreed to buy the goods from the scammer, not realising their origin.

The victim's details are traceable, and the police will arrest such a "mule" for, at the very minimum, receiving and/or being in possession of stolen goods.

Anytime you are asked by so-called "employers" to carry out these kinds of duties, you can be assured that the entire setup is a 100% fraud.

I would just like to add that DateLine on NBC has had several shows dedicated to this scam. It can cost you some serious cash and also give a permanent criminal record when you are caught. Yes, they will definitely catch you.

I have been looking for a legit work from home administration position, 99% of the offerings are scams. It takes alot of time and patience to find a legit work from home opportunity. It is best to apply to well established companies, or contact them offering your services.
