How low a scammer will go.

Sadly, many news snippets and opinions (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4853938.stm) appear very one-sided in the media, directed only towards the victims, resulting for example to prejudices not only in the ordinary citizens mind but also in the responsible law enforcement agencies and government departments. The Scammers are often understood as poor, hungry, decent people that have no other chance to make a living. In fact, these people are criminals without any morals, plain and simple. The more vulnerable a victim is, the more eager the scammer is to exploit these vulnerabilities in order to extract the most money. The scammers will "milk" a victim dry, they'll try to get the last penny out of the victim, even if the victim struggles to survive .

This can be seen in the following two emails that were forwarded to me, the first is from a (prospective) victim and the second the response from a (Advance Fee Fraud) scammer.

I earn roughly $600.00 AUD a week, my rent is $245.00 a week. my wife's medication costs run somewhere between $170.00 and $285.00 per week. My wife does not work due to her illness - pancreatic cancer. She is on a special diet because of the type of pancreatic cancer she has. The shopping alone will sometimes eats up my income. We have no savings left because once every 8 weeks we have a radiation isotope flown to Australia from the USA on the say so of the Oncology Department at Melbourne's Royal Women's Hospital, and that usually costs us somewhere between $AUD 9,600.00 and $AUD13,500.00. She has had 15 of these. You do the math!!! ($AUD152,000.00 - $AUD194,500.00, in case you didn't want to do the math).

We have been married for 17 years and I love this woman with my heart. We want kids. Never gonna happen, Frank. Why? Because this cancer has ****ed up her hormones and damaged her ability to conceive, Frank. I don't want to loose her. I want to grow old with her.

If this story is real and there is a cheque for $900,000 US Dollars, then please use the above method so I can help my wife get the treatment she needs and deserves. Don't **** me around, man. I'm going through enough as it is.

To prove my point look at the attached photos. These were taken last October when a spineless ****ed up surgeon decided he could not go ahead with the operation because her liver also had cancerous growths. The only place we have been promised a cure is Baltimore in the USA. WE DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF CASH!!!

We are on the verge of bankruptcy.

If there is no money and you are trying to defraud me, then think about this. This is bad KARMA for yourself. Find a way to redeem yourself, perhaps you would like to make a large donation somewhere. HINT, HINT - Above mentioned Paypal account.

please my dear xxxx try to understand me very well towards this issue of delivery and you have to know that reson why i will send it through courier company is that if any thing happend on it they will pay for it ok.

and i have understand that you have big problem right now because of your wife but all i will promise to you is that i will make sure that you receive your check soonest with out any daleying so that you will see money to take good caer for your wife ok.

Aboslutely disgusting. Even in the face of that poor guy trying and hoping to spend the rest of his life with his wife who is so ill, and with all the financial burden (not to even mention the emotional hell) that comes with that, these evil, pathetic, disgusting excuses for human beings will stop at nothing. It makes my blood boil. Actually, that's an understatement.
