I am in the middle of assisting a scam victim from Canada, and we are trying to get some media attention brought to her case. I contacted a reporter and she responded back with the following questions . . .

-Do you have any sense if Canadian banks are doing this with other fake cheques, or whether this is an isolated case? I assume you are US based, but any Candidan context you could give would be great
-Do you have any sense of how big this fake "American Express" gift cheque scam is, in Canada and/or the US? How many victims etc?
-Are you linked to any Canadian victim's organization that I could interview on this? If not, would you be willing to be interviewed?

Since we are in the US I am turning to you for assistance on answers to the reporter's questions. Has anyone here at FraudWatchers assisted Canadian scam victims that could help me out with this info?

Thanks,
