View Full Version : Are we protected by using a credit card?

I bought a musical instrument using my Visa card.
The Visa card bank people say that I can open a dispute, and get a refund if
the goods are not shipped.

I was wondering if anyone has ever gone through this process. I can't deal directly with the merchant, since they don't speak English. I am not even
sure how to contact them anyway.

The company is Ali-Baba and the supplier is "Korea Double." They said the goods were shipped, but the tracking number is no good.

So, is there a "gotcha" where Visa can deny my refund? I don't want this to tie up my credit card balance unnecessarily.

Hi billsincl and welcome to Fraudwatchers. No, I don't believe that there is any "gotcha". If you do not receive the goods you should be able to dispute any charge with your credit card company. This is something you should raise with your credit card company right away. There are limits to when you can dispute a charge. Generally its 60 days after the charge appears on your statement and the dispute has to be in writing.
