It's a scam. Barrister Mike Okeke is a known alias used by a scammer (or scammers).
And in.com is a free webmail address. At some stage, you'll be asked to pay for the visa etc via Western Union.
So I'm 100% sure that there is no job with Chevron. Sorry. Fake job scams are common. Please post the email offering the job though, for someone here to take a look at.

Scammers don't care who they cheat. If you have any money, they'll take it.
Tell Chevron by all means, although they probably know. I warned a UK business several days ago, and they haven't even bothered to reply.
LIBRA CONSULTANT LIMITED
26 York Street, London W1U 6PZ, ENG , UK
Real company also misused by the scammer, who owns the email address and redirect phone number.
Don't think of sending a virus. Apart from being illegal, most scammers work out of Internet cafes. So you'd be harming an innocent third party.

Hello Spacehead,
If they have copies of your documents, you may consider reporting this to your local authorities in order to protect yourself against identity theft.
Mr. Tamborine Man is right, they're not worth your time and effort. Just walk away and be happy they didn't get you.
Good luck!

Attn. Mr. Steven Cole
Everything is ready to go on my end. I have already made copies off my passport and I have cleared it with my wife. Two of my former companies sent their people to Nigeria who I worked very close with on other projects. I have a few quick questions for you.is the 17,000 usd pay per month for the 28 days on site or does it also pay 17,000 usd for the 28 days off site. Who is financially responsible for the monthly transportation off site and does it included round trip expenses to our homes stateside or is it to an off site man camp. Next what type of welding work am I expected to perform, on what type of equipment will I be using, and is the job to be in the interior of the compound or the outer perimeter. The last few question are do you need my passport photo with or without the identification numbers showing and do you have a number of someone whom I can speak with that could answer these and other technical questions or will you have this information? I will attempt to contact you tomorrow.
Thank you agian, almost tricked

I googled this company and their phone number and all I could come up with was the scams that you all have listed. They initially asked for my resume which I sent. I had so many feelers out that I couldn't remember so I did. But when this email, with contract attached, came through and I read it, it seemed almost too good to be true. When I opened the contract in Word, I looked at it and said who the heck put this together. You could tell someone slapped it together. The Chevron logo was fuzzy and faded but the rest of the document was crisp. Chevron rolls better than that, LOL!!! I have worked international contracts before and I don't know anyone that would give you a contract to sign without at least speaking to you first.

Attention: Haseeb Ahmad Khan,
I am Barrister Steve Johnson, Immigration attorney mandated by Statoil Nigeria Limited to assist you on the Immigration procedures. There are three stages involved in the employment of expatriates in NIGERIA.
1, Request for cable visa
2, Application for subject to regulation visa (STR VISA)
3, Regularization of stay.
Once the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has approved the request for cable visa, it will be forwarded to the NIGERIAN EMBASSYwho will issue you an S.T.R VISA. The regularization of stay is done here in NIGERIA on your arrival.
Firstly before I proceed with the application to the Nigeria Embassy in your location to give you a STR VISA, I have to first of all get you your ExpatriateQuota Approval Letter and Cable Visa from the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Nigeria.
You are to send me the following required documents so that I can make an application for you with the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) for the approval of your Resident/worker's Permit, Cable Visa (which is a per-requisite for STR Visa) and Expatriate Quota.
1. Proof of vaccination against yellow fever.
2. Expatriate travelers insurance policy certificate (ETIP)
3. A scanned copy of your international passport.
4. Letter Of Appointment
THE EXPATRIATE TRAVELERS INSURANCE POLICY (ETIP) COVER is a mandatory requirement by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) this is because the policy is proves that you are medically fit; to work in Nigeria and also it is a per-requisite to renew your resident/worker's permit every year. The ETIP has benefits to the tune of $9,500 000.00 (NINE MILLION AND FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND US DOLLAR S) and the duration is one year, it should include benefits for loss of luggage, repatriations, medical, permanent disability and death etc.
The preferred insurance company by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) is NICON INSURANCE PLC, is a Nigerian Government owned insurance company located in Nigeria. So you are to look for their agent in your location. After you have applied for the ETIP policy, you will be issued a certificate. You are to send me a copy of the certificate Issued via electronically as attachment.
Attached is the Nigerian Immigration Services form, you are to go through it carefully before filling it properly.
