This criminal gang is advertising various animals for sale or for adoption. Some time for a price and other times, free. It doesn't matter because once you contact them, there will be various charges for health certificates, shipping and insurance documents for some made up Pet Transport company etc..,
They are placing ads in various classifieds for Capuchin & KINKANJOUS monkeys, Hyacinth Macaw & parrot eggs, Dogs, Cats, Horses, etc.., etc.., often accompanied with cute photos for the desired baiting effect on potential victims.
Some of the listing do not mention Cameroon, instead it will be Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, Belgium & France, etc.., Only after you contact them will you learn that the animal is in Cameroon. They sometimes pass off as being U.S. or France or Belgium nationals, presently living in Cameroon. The reason for this is that they are using stolen identity documents from individuals of those countries, which they will send you along with the fake documents.
Most countries have banned all bird import from West Africa. Also, in many countries including the U.S.A., it is illegal for an individual to import ALL types of monkey. Not that it matters because these scammers do not have any animals for sale, only fake documents. My advice is:
***Do not attempt to import animal pets from Cameroon.***
I say "attempt" because in all the reports we received, the whole scenario was actually a standard 419 Advance Fee Fraud and nothing more. In reality, there where never any animal of any kind involved, only the usual scammer lies.
These scammers have made many victims already and if you ignore this advice, you will likely be their next victim.
There are hundreds if not thousands of fraudulent classifieds post all over the Internet using as many email addresses. Most pet classifieds on the net contain some.
(These email addresses and telephone numbers are simply of Cameroon or Nigeria related posters picked up on a single site of Pets Classifieds. No other opinion is implied)
