With winning odds of 1 in 9, and a total cash payout worth US$523 Million, Japan Jumbo "SUMMER" Draw is certainly the richest Lottery in Asia. In fact, with the exception of the Spanish El Gordo Draw, it's the biggest Lottery Draw in the world!

And it's a Draw very few non-Japanese ever have the chance to win. Tickets in Japan's Dream Jumbo Draw are sold exclusively by the Mizuho Bank for a limited time period each year. And because the Draw is so popular, Ticket sales stop as soon as all Tickets are sold… often before the announced sales period is over. This naturally leaves little opportunity for foreign players to take part. In fact, until this year, entry into the Japanese Jumbo Lottery Draw has never before been offered to players living overseas.
I think the first question to ask yourself is, "Did I buy a ticket to this lottery"
We cannot win a lottery we did not enter. If you send the form in, there will be fees to be paid before you get any money. If they ask for fees to be paid, then it is a scam. Do not send money as you will not receive any winnings back.

This is what is called an advance fee scam and it is predominate right now with so-called-lottery-winnings!

Your exact letter is posted there. This letter has been sent to thousands of people and it is a advance fee scam, from all I can find out for you!

The website that is being used by the scammers to advertise the scam is unfortunately almost bulletproof. Our friends over at aa419.org tried to bring it down with all means in the past months but it has withstood all attempts. :x

So was this fake?

Indeed it was/is. For many reasons:

There is no such lottery organisation, there is no such thing as an "international lottery" and there is no such thing as legitimate lottery companies contacting winners by email. Real lottery organisations have their own domain names and do not have their staff use free, anonymous, disposable webmail addresses from rediffmail or yahoo or any of the others. People do not win lotteries they have not entered.
