Recently a mate of mine was scammed by a pet agency website, he paid $1200 for a dog which never turned up.

Well I even called the phone number...at least I got him out of bed...but of course it was I'll call you and dog wuill go to airport....thankfully I am only out $175.00...my poor mom is out $550.00...I feel bad because I found the websight...well technically my 11 yr old did and wanted a puppy so bad...then mom looked and wanted one...they haven't contacted us for anymore money at all...I doubt they will . Is there anyone you can report them to with their websight and phone number ect...to authorites there?

Catching these criminals is difficult because all their means of communications are anonymous, and all names given are fake. Also, their being in Cameroon where authorities don't seem to be too concerned. Nonetheless, if you are in the U.S., you should filr a complains with www.ic3.gov

This shows the important of educating the public because these thieves are not about to stop.

This also show the importance to never use Western Union or Money Gram to pay for a purchase. These are meant strictly for sending money to friends and family since it's equivalent to paying a stranger in cash. Once the thief picks up the money, it's gone for good.

There is an article posted on the Japan Anti-Scam Organization web site www.j-aso.jp that shows the extent of scamming in some West African societies. It's about a Cameroon medical student in police custody in Russia after being arrested for running an Internet scam.

The 28 year old Cameroon man was passing posing through the Internet as a Russian beauty looking for love.

Insuring your puppies , you should be happy about that, because you stand not to lost anything if incase of anything happens with the puppies on transit, morever 4/5 of the insurance money will be refunded back to you on delivery of puppies, i know you will say i didnt told you upfront, but my dear things change everyday and all human beings are not perfect and are all bound to make mistakes, and you will not be sending the insurance payments but to me, i will give you the insurance address where you will send the payemnts and they will issue you the reciept.the airport have refused to send out any uninsured pets again, because they have to stand to repay many customers when something happens with their pets on transit, and there is nothing either me or you can do about that .

I dont lie when it concerns my business because i am a reputable breeder with 15 years experience in shipping puppies and with no problem. Think about it and get back to me, with what you , but if i may advise, you are just trying to be a penny wise and a pound foolish.

There's no point in replying, because I've never known a single one of these thieves to give so much as a penny back. He's only hoping to get you to send more. If he does "refund" your money, I bet it will be in the form of a forged check, made out for more than he owes, and he'll ask you to wire back the "excess". Or a phony postal order, or some other payment method. Or he'll be fishing for your credit card or bank account details, on the pretense that he's going to give you a credit. He's not about to actually send you anything by Western Union. At best, he might send you a dollar, get you to check the MTCN online, see that there's some money there for pickup, then hit you with another "surprise expense" that is the "only thing standing between you and your puppies" or similar nonsense. It's almost certainly some kind of bluff that will lead into an attempt to scam you for more.

So long as you keep talking to him, he has hope that he can get you to pay more.

I am so glad I found this web site!! I sent CHEO BENARD $180.00 for a yorkie puppy. He said he would be sending the puppy right away. Then he called saying that he needed an extra $287. for insurance that would be refundable when the puppy arrived. Now pet air is contacting me asking for another $210. for the correct certificate to send the puppy. I was unsure about this so I went online to look up pet air and this web site came up!!! I am so glad. I feel that I am a very nice person and would like to think that of all others so it is very hard for me to believe that people are doing this!!! I am glad I found this web site so I do not send any more money!!!

Somebody offers in different online market-places Hyazinth-macaws for sale. The macaws "would"
be in good situation and there from Cameroun. The price for one of this wonderfull parrots should
only be 4.000 EUR including all taxes and delivery costs!

A real true price for a pair of 1,5 year old Hyazinth-Macaws in Germany with all necessary papers
(CITES, Health-Vet-Check, Taxes and so more) will be about 25.000 EUR. So I guess there's one
more try to fetch some money from people!

ive just bought a puppy off a couple in cameroon, i am from australia. I havent yet paid for the puppy, its a chihuahua. They have sent me photos of the pup. But i feel weary that they are asking such a small amount for the pup. There are no legitimate pet export from Cameroon. NONE. They are ALL scams.

If you send money, they will simply ask for more, for various fake documents and reason. It's that simple. You will be just another of hundreds in Europe, Australia and North America that have been scammed by these criminals.

The company name and the individual's names are irrelevant since they are all fake and are inventing new ones every days.

They usually ask for a small amount to start, or simply offer a $5000 monkey free for adoption. It's part of the bait.

You are lucky that you found these other postings before sending the money. Don't loose that advantage and fall for it. Just remember this simple statement:

There are no legitimate pet export from Cameroon. They are ALL scams.

If you read the previous posts in this thread, there is NO such thing as a legitimate animal export business run out of Cameroon. Period. Exporting animals from Cameroon is illegal. It doesn't matter what kind of animals, what breed, or where the exporter claims to be from, or where they claim to have been educated. It has to be a scam.

babybnn@yahoo.com scammed me. The email name is Baby Banana. They are calling me from 237-619-4896 supposedly shipping the puppy from camairpetagency.tripod in France. The cost was $100 to ship. The supposed airport called from France stating they had my puppy and needed a me to pay for a new crate because of temperature/climate and the cost of insurance(which I was to be refunded). They then asked for more money stating the puppy needed microchipping to go thru customs. Then the flight ticket expired. They asked for another fee to ship the puppy and that was all that was needed. Then they called and emailed stating the puppy needed a cites permit, plus another flight and that I was responsible for paying for the care of the puppy being cared for so long. They also stated the pup was going to quarentine if I didn't get the funds there for the pup to be shipped. I am still getting calls now askng if they can adopt her out(dog called debra) to another person. I said if I can get a refund of all that was sent (at least $500-$600 to include Western Union fees). PLEASE BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE. Money was sent to Yanes Rene in Camaroon 234 Vicky Street Com Avu +237 .They almost ruined my kids Christmas holiday. It's a scam because I still have no puppy and the seller supposedly has her back and didn't tell me until I called the airline number to ask what happened to my dog. Don't trust any of these people. Don't waste your time or money. Oh and they will give you a sob story about her family life so you can get the dog into a better place quickly.

This ad was posted on the Dallas Examiner's website under
"Amusing African Grey Seeking a Home" it even had a picture. I e-mailed the person and asked if they still needed a home for the bird. Thinking they where in the Dallas area. Here is what I got back:

Ok that's when I knew it was a scam. I then asked for a phone number so I could call and talk to her. Still no reply back on that. I got this e-mail from the scam shipping company.

Ok at first I thought this was real. But when you go to view the trakcing information it has the bird going to 3 addresses. I'm guessing these are the other people that have been scammed.

I e-mailed the shipping company and asked for a phone number and told them that 4 tracking numbers come up and 2 of them are not me. This is what they replied with.

WE ARE SORRY THAT WROG INFORMATION OK. YOU CAN NOW GO AND COFIRM YOUR TRACKING USING THE CODE.

Tracking still comes up with 4 numbers and 3 people all getting the same bird! This is so sad that someone would try and get money out of people this way.

Hey it seems I found this website a little too late. My roommate and I were looking for puppies and came across this ad:

Interested we emailed the woman to see what it was about, how much, if the puppies were up to date on shots and their records and stuff.

She responded, seeming genuinely excited that someone wanted her "babies" and sent me picture of the two of them together, and each by him/herself. The markings matched. I guess I'm just too naive.

My mother warned me about scams. Unfortunately everything "Sylvia Kajiru" told me seemed legit and sincere. That's not enough, don't be fooled.

She told me she she had already sent one to her friend in Maryland and that she had 2 left (the two my roommate and i were going to get) and that although the post said free, there was going to be a slight charge for shipping. $240 each.

Seeing as an AKC registered english bulldog puppy usually runs for 1000 or more we jumped on the offer -- not thinking clearly.

She told us that the next available flight out was at 11:45 pm Friday night, and then there was another Saturday night at the same time. She wanted to know what was best for us because she didn't want her "babies" to be left at the airport too long. (Another convincing line).

We agreed that my roommate and I would send the money yesterday and that she'd ship them tonight (friday) at 11:45. She said once the flight was officially booked she'd let us know the estimated arrival time.

We haven't heard anything yet. And, it would be somewhere between 7 and 8 pm there, you'd think she'd know by now.

I just found this site, and honestly feel like a complete idiot. Not to mention horrible because I was so excited.
