Hello Sonya13,

It's a good thing that you did end up being on this forum to get answers before you really did get scammed out of your money. If you recognize the wording in texts posted here, it's a scam all right and there's no dog.

The best thing for you is to stop contact with this daina rossi immediately. If she sends emails, don't answer. If she calls, just hang up. Generally, they'll let go as soon as they realize there's no money to be had.

You're worried about having given your personal information to them. You can visit this website for all the information you need on reporting your experience to the American authorities; http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx

I can only encourage you to keep reading on scams and how you can protect yourself from these in the future.

Good luck!

Hi

Along the same lines..... I replied to an ad on Vivastreet.co.uk for Cavalier King Charles puppies for sale in Southfields, London. When I e mailed the seller he replied with an 0702 number (Magrathea) which I then knew nothing about (see below)

From: exx fraser <exxfraser@gmail.com>
Date: Aug 4, 2009 4:00 PM
Subject: Cavarlier King Charles Spaniel puppies for sale
To:

Hi

Thanks for mail, these puppies are 12 weeks old,and are vet
checked up to date and fully kc registered. My pups are very
socialized with kids and other home pets and have this outstanding
characteristic of easily adapting and socializing in a new
environment. So why do you want the puppy? have you ever had any puppy
before and for whom do you want the puppy? Well i am asking all these
because i want to know and be sure am giving the puppies out to a
good, loving and caring home where they will be treated with much love
and concern.. So how many puppies do you want and of what sex. Also
how soon do you wish to have the puppies and where precisely are you
located? Get back to me asap.I have attached the pics of the puppies,
the boy Max and the girl Estrella. Warm Regards
So i will be waiting to read from you asap or please call me at 0702-307-8650

I phoned him and was told that he had recently moved to Scotland and if I was unable to go to see the puppy he would send it to me via a delivery company. All I needed to do was send him an e mail with my full name, address, post code and telephone number. When I asked about payment he said that I would be paying the delivery company direct when they delivered the puppy. I said that I would think about it and let him know. I have since received the following e mail....

Hi,
I am happy you are a puppy lover and

from the way you sound from your mail it tells me you are going to

take very good care of the puppy.. I am giving the puppies out because

i just moved into my new apartment where my landlord does not permit

us to live with dogs. So all am looking for is a loving and caring

home for the puppies where they will be treated with much love and

concern as they have been brought up. The puppy will also come along

side the following items: a free crate, the puppy's blanket, a package

with some of it's toys, two years health guarantee, health certificate

and change of ownership document.

Here is my full address: "22 High Street Aberlour, Moray, AB38 9QD, Scotland.

" . So would you like to come over to pick up the puppy? Well

if you think traveling over here will be abit stressful to you then we

can arrange for a home delivery whereby the puppy will be delivered

right at your doorsteps by a delivery company. It Will cost you £200

for the puppy including delivery and you will be paying the funds

upfront directly to the delivery company. So if that is ok by you then

i will need your full contact details below which i will use to get

the puppy registered with the delivery company for delivery at your

home tomorrow. The infor i need is your:

Fortunately enough no money has changed hands as I was very wary once he started asking for personal details to be forwarded. Be warned dog lovers!! As they say on the "Real Hustle", "If it seems to good to be true, it usually is"

I was scammed by people in Cameroon who said that they had a teacup yorkie they were looking to get rid of. She was to busy and the person that took care of the puppy, her sister had passed away. We had emailed each other quite a few times chatting getting to know each other some. She requested $90.00 to ship the puppy to me, then I got an email from Camerooairlines stating that another $520 was needed but it was a refundable life insurance and I would get my money back when she landed. I told Natasha that I didn't have any of the money other than $30.00 and she supposedly paid for it and said the puppy was on its way and would land at my airport at 7:00 am. About 4 hours later, I got another email from Camerooairlines saying the puppy was quarantined in France and would require $900.00 to get her going. This was the last of the fees. I called them on their scam and got nasty letters from the airline which I thought was very unprofessional. I was stupid in trusting Natasha. I really thought that their were still nice people in the world.....I guess you just can't trust anyone. I have learned my lesson. I also got another letter from Natasha after I asked her for my money back and she said the only way she could send money through Western Union was if I gave her my credit card information. I'm not that stupid. I haven't heard back from her yet.

Hello. I was excited to see an ad to buy a pair of scarlet macaws. I was even more excited when the person selling them said that all i would need to pay was for the bird's flight back to the states. They said due to their transfer, or new job they couldn't care for them no more. They said the climate was bad for them to. I thought what a deal! and was excited to get them. My parents were skeptic about giving me the money because it was an online deal. They told me to look into it more. The person told me to wire them the money via Western Union. They gave me this information to send it:

Reciever's names........NJI SOH
Country......................Cameroon
Zip code.......................00237
Address......................Up Town
Amount........................$220
Test uestion...............what is you name?
Test Answer...............( )

I looked up NJI SOH to see what that was about. I didn't understand why the address said up town. I asked him for a phone number. I didn't want to call because I could be a bit gullable. He told me he resided in Cameroon. I looked up Cameroon pet express and nothing but fraud forums came up. I was bummed. But still had the hope it was real.
Then I saw that the name on the email said Cham Scott and on of the emails he sent me he said:

Best regards
Agwo Family

I didn't understand. Then I looked up his email and something about an Islamic school, something with tutoring came up I don't know. Thats when i knew it was fraud. And i no longer proceeded with this deal. He told me he didn't know what i was talking about but it was probably that i didn't love the birds enough.

this is the email to watch out!!!!!

Hello Bubbles and welcome to Fraudwatchers! :welcome:

I'm sorry you were scammed. The best thing for you to do is to file a police report with your local authorities. If your scammers are really in South Africa, they might just follow it up.

You'll find information on how to retreive email headers here;

http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=127

But don't get your hopes up too high, scammers often use bogus names and locations and you might just be on a wild goose chase.

Retrieving money sent by Western Union is next to impossible. Once the money's been picked up, it's lost forever.

Why don't you post the entire information on these scammers, emails, telephones, website if any, who the money was sent to. This will serve to help others find the information before it's too late.

I am so relieved to have found this website. This all started when I was looking for a British bulldog puppy. I found a lady in the classified adds called Jane Woods (Email: janewoods17@yahoo.com). As most of the people on, the agency contacted me by the name of Pet Mover (Email: petmovers.petmover@gmail.com) It first began with a $300 shipping cost. Then after that it was the life insurance for the puppy which was $1300. After that they asked for a further $600 for a crate and a permit for the dog to get his permit to enter the country. A day later i received an email stating that the puppy had died in Israel airport. Little did I know, they were not done trying to scam money off me. I received an email from the World Union Monitoring Institution saying that they were going to pay back the insurance money owed to me which was $35,000 just so long as I paid them $4,500 in some strange currency exchange fee. Of course I ignored this fee. After ignoring them for a long period of time I got an email from the 'FBI' from fbigov@post.com telling me that I HAD to pay this amount so that I wouldn't get prosecuted.

I sincerely hope no one else falls for this scam as it was a big waste of time, money, and a lot of heartache. Watch out for all the emails that have been posted above as if you receive any emails from them then your definitely being scammed. It saddens me to think that some people would really take advantage of kind hearted people in the way that they have. I hope they meet some form of justice someday.

And to anyone who are still looking for puppies, do what I did, go to your local animal shelter and rescue a puppy and give him a good home. The dogs are absolutely free and there for you to see and to play with. I have rescued a puppy and am more then happy with him :) I still hope for the worst for those people that pulled off this scam.

Hi,
I'm <removed> from <removed> and I think I'm the only memeber of this site from <removed>. The reason for that is that before a few days I became a victim of scam! I found beautifull puppy on one site from Sarajevo, but his breeder was from Slovakia ( Mathew Diminis, slovakiaheavenlypuppies.web.com). The price was very low ( 150 euro and the regular price in Bosnia is 400 euro!!), he introduced his dog farm to me, I looked on site and everything looked serious and we aranged everything for transport. I gave him my details and then delivery agency that cooperates with him contacted me:

''Dear Madam ,
we have a Chihuahua puppy here at our agency named Pipsqueak to be transported and delivered to your home .We want to belief you chose our agency because you belief we are the best .We have a reputation, in part, on punctuality. Our objective is to do our best to never keep you or your pets waiting, regardless of the circumstances.

We'll come when you call us... to the right place at the right time. And we'll deliver on time with the speed and efficiency you'd expect from professionals
Everything is now set for the transportation and delivery of your puppy so we will need you to make the payment of the delivery fee and cost of the
puppy which stands at 180Euro which we belief has already been arranged by you and Mr Mathew.
We will like you to make the payment immediately to our pets and livestock headquarters which is in Cameroon using the address as below :

NAME: TOKO ANICET

ADDRESS: 12 BOSNIA EMBASSY STR .NL

CITY:DOUALA

COUNTRY:CAMEROON

POSTCODE:00237

TEST QUESTION: WHO?

ANSWER: PIRGO

You are to make the payment via Western Union , once you make the payment ,you scan and forward to us the proof of payment receipt so that we can keep it for future references
or you simply send us the payment details .

BELOW IS THE TRACKING NUMBER OF YOUR PUPPY . WHICH WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON THE LOCATION AND CONDITION OF YOUR PUPPY DURING TRANSPORTATION:

4357621356

Follow this link and insert the number to track :http://primesharedelivery.webs.com/tracking.htm

We need you to go immediately to any Western Union store and make the payment so that we can commence immediately with the delivery of your puppy .''

This was email from primesharedeliveryagency@gmail.com and their name is Primeshare delivery agency, and Dr. Osborne Herbert is the boss. They have very good web site www.primesharedelivery.webs.com, I the begining I was a little bit suspicious because of adress in Cameroon but I didn't have time to look on Internet about it because I was too excited about the puppy that I went and gave 200 euro to Western Union. After I sent them a control number and they confirmed my payment I we arranged when the puppy will come to my home, they told me the name of courier man that will bring the puppy and his phone ( Phillip Boyles, 0023794052184) but that was the last email from them, they were unavaible on phones and I realised that I was scam!!!! I feel terrible even today when I think about that but I want to do something to stop this false breeder from Slovakia. I found a lot of web sites in Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia where he is offering his dogs and now I'm trying to sent a warning messages to administators of that sites to block this user!! I want to save innocent people who loves animals as much as I can!

Hi, I to was almost scammed by a guy named Jonson White claiming to have a cute himalayan kitten. At first we tried ringing him but as I didnt get through I started wondering what was going on. It seemed weird to me how both numbers provided would not work. It was the next day that the emails started.
He asked us questions about whether we would love the kitten and if I had any experiance and so I responded. Going on further through the email i realised something. In his ad he said his location was in slough. But in his next email he then tells me that he is edinburgh with a sick wife and he moves around alot so he cannot have the kitten anymore.
He then goes on to say that if i am interested in having the kitten I can mail him back. So I did and then he asked for Name, Address, Zip code, nearest airport. At this time i was starting to get quite suspicious but i gave out those small details anyway.
It was afterwards that i recieved an email from bestpetshippers@consultant.com and i tried searching for this company but they did not have a website and i found this to be very strange indeed. It also seemed strange to me about the fact that this guy was from Yaounde Cameroom. I then called the number that was provided and when a man with an african voice came up it was then i knew that this had to be somekind of scam. After i hung up i stumbled on this site and i realised that it truly was a scam. So thankful for this site as it saved me from falling into this trap. I have since ceased furthur contact with this person and blocked all email from them. However should i worry about the info that i gave them beforehand?

Name, address and zip code are all things that could easily be looked up in the phone book, so, unless you have reason to believe he has a local accomplice and that they would actually risk being identified and show up on your doorstep, it's nothing to worry about. Just gently but firmly refuse to communicate with them and you generally won't even hear the empty threats some scammers throw around.

Hello Watchers. I am dealing with a strange story. I am searching for a frenchie Bulldog, and I've found one at Portugal, with a woman called Jossy Delporte, initially located on Portugal. She have a lot of information's on different sites, as www.sellitbuyit.ca, and a lot of. i have translated the email: "My son has allergies and I do not know where to keep the puppies. I just need a good home for them and i need it fast, because the doctor just told us suffer from asthma and serious allergies. Kittens the three of them and is 13 weeks old. Do contact us if you want one of them. they accept and you only care transport.". I'm still talking to the supposedly Jossy, and asking for photos of those dogs. The most impressive information in that her husband is moving to Cameroon, and I have to deal with it. I have called to him, on the telephone 0023775400340, and talked in french. He was very suspects, and visibly annoyed with the call. So I have received an "recent" photo, that Jossy sent, and she's told that the photo was took 3 days before. But, when the detailed information's of the photo says that the photo was taken on February 2010.

I am not 100% sure, but I think that is a Fraud. Any Help? (sorry for the poor, poor English).

Just tried to scam me a few minutes ago and keeps calling the phone and emailing me. I sent an email requesting info on a jack russel terrier and they sent me pics. The ad i originally responded to looked like it was in omaha, ne but the email was from a lady in the west island of cameroon. The phone call was from a guy. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Sounded like a scam so i checked it out by trying to see where the heck cameroon was and found a few websites. it's beatricelongoria@yahoo.com. and a guy who calls from tons of different numbers.

Like yourself I was almost scamed but thanks to this web site and your entry I saved myself and my money. I was going to buy a giant schnauzer puppy. The guy named himself as Lean Whyte - strange name, that's what I thought. He said that he has family of 5 and has a grown up daughter, but when I called him he sounded like a twenty-something years old with a strange accent, like he would be african. He said he lives in London and because I live in Northern Irealnd he will not expect from me any payment for a puppy but only delivery costs because he wants the puppy to be in good home. Like you I was asked a lot of questions which I answered but my questions were not answered. Very similar story to yours. I never said I decided to get it but he was already arranging the delivery and registration. Always e-mailed me in the late afternoon or evening. I decided to give him a phone call on monday morning and I phoned at 7:45am. I know it's early but he said he will take the puppy to agency and I will get an e-mail from the company around 9:30-10 am. That would be quick, I thought, but when I called hi at 7:$5am he said that I will get an e-mail in 15 minutes! That shocked me! When I phone he asked me for a breed of the puppy - he should know. Then I've got that e-mail from the Best Pet Shippers and they gave the addres to their websit which was bestpetshippers.page.tl . They also requested a trnsfer of money via MoneyGram. I did my research, thank God I found this website. Also on the statement form that agency it said that Lean Whyte is in Kirkwall in Scotland! I could not have any guarantee and no safe money transfer metod was offered! I phoned them, told them that I did a check on the and I am no longer interested, the guy got quite annoiyed but I just quit saying I don't want them to contact me in the futere. I also e-mail Mr Whyte and told him about my discovery and asked to not contact me either, plus I said I will post infromation about him in the web.
This is the add I found on the muamat.com :

Oh My God, Your home sounds loving and perfect for Mimi .Thanks for your soonest respond and assurance. I am Doris the wife of Joseph. I must say that we are so excited to let Mimi to your loving home. We trust you so much now that you have assured us a loving home. We have chosen you as the new parent of Mimi. Mimi would get along well with your family. Mimi is a very intelligent, beautiful little girl with a super personality. She has a heart of gold, and warms up to everyone quickly. She is an Outstanding Quality Puppy with Champion bloodline, very healthy, much socialized. She is good with children and other animals, Shots up to date on all vaccinations and de-worming ... Health Guarantee. Likes playing with kids and children well trained and comes with vet papers and health certificate. She is ready to meet her forever home where she will spend the rest of her life. I really hope you are a pet lover because i want the best for my puppy, I know i will be missing my girl dearly but providing all her needs makes me very happy, Please I just want you to promise me you are going to take very good care of her.

To tell you a bit about myself, I am 29 and I am expecting my first baby soon. I got married 2 years back and we are so happily married. I have been with dogs all my life as my Grand Father was a pet lover. I usually go there on holidays and would spend much time with the animals and house pets there. Mimi’s mother Jenny was given to me as a wedding gift by my grandfather. Jenny died of heart disease a month ago.

We traveled to Victoria Island (Cameroon) on research bases. We are out to carry out biological research on the bark of tress in Cameroon. The country is good in wood and some of the trees serve as medicines. We would be in Cameroon for 7 months before coming back. The climate here is not too good for Chihuahua’s. So that is why we have decided to send her back to the US. It will really do us much good if you can take good care of her because she needs much care. . There will be no problem flying her to you as she has all her health papers and she will come with them. She is perfectly healthy and her shots are up to date. All you will need to do is to get back to us with the name of the person who will pick her up from the airport and the name of the nearest airport to your location. Or if you would prefer she be shipped to your home, then get back to us with your full names, State, City. Zip code, Phone number (Cell and home), and the nearest airport to your home. Then we will fly her there so that you can pick her from the airport. Or better still include your home address so she can be delivered to your door step. Also, you will have to take care of the shipping fee which is $180 and that includes airport charges so you will not have any other fee to pay. She is ready to go on adoption right now so as soon as you are ready, we can fly her to you.

You will pay the $180 directly to the shipping company. We will make the shipping arrangements and have them contact you to let you know how the payment and delivery works.

Has anyone ever traded with jennifercats@gmail.com ?
She claims to have a breeding facility in Cameroon and sells a caracal kitten for $ 1200.
She wants $300 in advance. She claims to export the animal in 1-2 days with a courier to Turkey, for the price of $195, with all the required legal documents.
Does anyone have any knowledge on the person?
Do you think this is a scam?

I'm very glad that I only got taken for $100, but that's still my money. I responded to a Free English Bulldog puppy for adoption ad in our local paper. Of course when I sent an email I got all of the questions and the story about relocating to Spain to work w/ the Baptist Missions. I feel like such an idiot after being swindled in. He told me that I would need to pay $100 for the change of ownership papers to be completed in Barcelona and then he could put the puppy on a flight to the US. He called me to let me know that he had the paperwork taken care of and would be booking a flight @ the Barcelona Airport. A short time later I received another email stating that everything was taken care of and the puppy was booked w/ Air Europa Cargo on a flight to leave at 2300 GMT. About an hour later I received a call from the "airport" stating that I needed to contact my exporter because the pup was being held until insurance fees had been paid in the amount of $2000. They even sent me an email that looked to be legitimately from the airport. I forwarded this to my contact and he quickly responded that his daughter had been in an accident and he would be unable to pay the entire amount but he had $1030 available....encouraging me to borrow from friends to wire him the money because he was concerned about the puppy being held at the airport. The truth is, Thank God, that I didn't have that money or I could possibly have been taken for more. He told me that the money would be refunded to me once the puppy was delivered and I could just wire his amount paid back to him. After several emails back and forth, I didn't receive another response. It was then that my husband started looking online for scams and found so many that were almost identical...even down to the emails sent. This ad was published in the Kinston Free Press of Kinston, NC under the classified ads. Out of curiosity there are more ads placed today...using different contacts and different emails. I have reported these ads to the moderator of this site and hopefully they will be removed. Here is the contact info. that I had so that hopefully no one else will be taken advantage of.

Hello tdavis0327 and welcome to Fraudwatchers!

I'm sorry you were scammed, however, I'm glad you realized before you parted with more of your money. It would be helpful if you could post the actual text of the emails you received from this evolutionary accident including the Western Union receiver's information. Please be careful to expunge any personal information. Thank you!

Hello Jo S,

I'm sorry you were scammed. What contact details did they use?

We were looking for an African Grey Parrot and found a woman on Ebay classifieds with a pair. I sent her an email requesting more information and a price for them... This is what I got back... I knew right away that it was a scam... You can almost always tell by the text in their messages.
I was almost scammed a few years ago and went as far as calling the FBI and Treasury Dept. into it, and that was after I contacted the Red Cross Headquarters. (That is who they supposedly worked for). There is nothing to do about any money that you have already sent, but they did catch at least one of these criminals with my help.

Hello,
Thanks for the mail and interest in the little girls. They are 3 years old, princess and daisy . They are our darling angels. We love them so much but its unfortunate that we cant even give them the love and affection we have in our hearts.. We are on a volunteer mission to Cameroon together with the UN malaria committee ,in regards to the disease in pregnant women and children... We traveled up here together with Daisy and Princess. They wont allow them into the country for reason being that, pets are not allowed into the country from other countries and i have been given a maximum of 6 days to send them back to the states. So that is the reason i have to find for them a home back in the states where they will be showered with all that love and affection.

I am just being concerned about the type of home they will be going to. We love them so much and we want to make sure they go to a family that will show them the affection they deserves. They are hand raised and home trained with all papers, has been fully checked, DNA tested and have a good relationship with other pets and well trained too. They are close ringed..closed bonded and vet checked with up to date vet records. They are ready to go for adoption with free parrot cage and toys. So if you can stand the chance of taking them home, you will only need to renew the flight ticket which will cost $350 for both, if you want one let me know.Waiting to read from you soon.
Regards.

Okay so the situation is this:

I responded to an ad for a chihuahua puppy a few days ago. They guy said that he just got promoted and his wife works all the time and that he was giving up his puppy for adoption.
I emailed him and he said that he would give up the puppy to a good home for $120.
So stupid me decided that was an awesome deal and hopped on that immediately. His english was atrocious but I didn't really think much of it. After emailing each other a few times, he decided that I was the right fit. I sent him the money via western union and he said he would bring the puppy to the airport that day to be transported to me.
He emailed me a few hours later saying that everything should be all set and that the pet transportation service should email me with the details.
They did and in retrospect, they also had some problems with the english language which should have tipped me off but I just figured they were idiots and moved on.
First they sent me the flight information and then a few hours later they emailed me telling me that all pets being transported required a $400 dollar insurance fee that would be refunded to me upon delivery. Saying they promised that it would be given back to me when I got the dog at the airport I had no problem and sent it to them, again via Western Union.
Then today they email me this:

"Things are even getting worse, the puppy was withdrawn from the flight last night , the health department ran their test and saw that the puppy is under age and must be quarantined , and the quarantine department reports the puppy will need to be under their care for 4 Months . Below you will have a better explanation of the quarantine but there are certain things you can do in order to get the puppy home within the next 24 hours.
Domestic dogs must be free of evidence of diseases communicable to humans when examined at the port of entry of delivery. Dogs that appear to be ill upon arrival, with a disease that may be transmissible to humans, is subject to veterinary medical examination, treatment (at the owner’s expense), and/or quarantine.
Dogs must be vaccinated against rabies at least 30 days before entering Maine. (This requirement does not apply, to puppies less than three months of age or to dogs originating or located for at least six months in areas designated by the U.S. Public Health Service as being rabies-free.)"

and this:

"WE MADE OUR TEST AND SAW THAT YOUR PUPPY IS GOING TO BE QUARANTINED FOR 4 MONTHS IF THE REFUNDABLE QUARANTINE FEES OF $ 610 NOT PAID SO THE TOTAL FOR THE PUPPY IS $610 (SIX HUNDRED AND TEN UNITED STATES DOLLARS) SO THIS FEE MUST BE PAID OR REFUSAL WILL MAKE YOUR PUPPY TO BE QUARANTINED FOR 4 MONTHS, SO IF THIS FEE IS NOT PAID WE WILL KEEP THE PUPPY FOR 4 MONTHS HERE IN THE QUARANTINE DEPARTMENT AND AFTER THE 4 MONTHS BEFORE YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE PUPPY YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY A TOTAL CHARGE OF $2000 BECAUSE OF THE CARE, TIME AND FEEDING SO IT WILL BE BEST IF YOU PAY THE $610 FOR THE REFUNDABLE QUARANTINE FEES SO THAT WE CAN GET THE PUPPY ON BOARD TO YOU THEN YOUR MONEY REFUNDED. SO WE THOUGHT IT WELL AND DECIDED TO NOTIFY YOU ABOUT THIS BEFORE WE COULD PROCEED.

NOTE: THE INSURANCE AND ALONG SIDE THE QUARANTINE FEES WOULD BE REFUNDED TO YOU UPON ARRIVAL OF THE PUPPY HOME .

TOTAL REFUNDS

INSURANCE: $400 PAID
QUARANTINE :$610 NOT PAID

TOTAL REFUND TONIGHT WILL BE : $1010USD"

I've been scammed, haven't I?

Hi was scammed by someone stating they were given away their teacup yorkie for adoption. I searched the internet at adoptapet.com. I email someone with this email address ginawaves@hotmail.com. I responded to her email advertising free adoption to teacup yorkies a boy an a girl she was trying to give them both to me. We email back an forth for bout a week. I asked all sorts of questions she assured me this was not a scam she was a God fearing Christian woman who loved the Lord imagine that. She said the puppys were free I would have full ownership of them I told her I only wanted one puppy I thought I convinced her into given me one puppy in the end I never got anything but scammed. She said all I had to do was pay $200 shipping/flight for the puppy an she would come right from the airport to my doorstep. I thought wow great ok. I so always wanted a little dog that would only be about 4lbs grown she said I made the right choice she had just the puppy for me. She email me pictures of the puppies they were adorable. When everything was all set she sent me information to wire money western union. She wanted $200 sent to Portage Wisconsin said she was there with famliy but live in GA, I sent the first $200 waited for the information on my puppy arrival she came back with an emai that stated all flights to my location was done for the evening I had wait til morning ok then the next morning came the store was. I'm all set wait to hear from the delivery co. Ok a message from the pet delivery company that says due to sever weather conditions your pet needs to be in a electric safe crate. I would need to send $250 to Cameroon Littoal. An wait to hear back I thougt oh no I email the lady name Linda Ledger back. She stated her husband was in a bad car accident but she would contact the airport she got back with me said yes please send the money right away for the puppy name Cassie. They were waiting to get her to me. I'm mad as I right this I get sick to my stomach everytime I think of or have to repeat this. Longstory short. After sending the $250 she assured me by noon Sunday Cassie would be with me. Sunday came an email from the pet delivery company stating the pets insurance was expired an I needed to send $700 to cover the insurnace to send her this was refundable just send it to the Cameroon location. I then became angry start to figure this was not true I refused to send anymore money I started calling them out on lies they even tried to call me from a 237 area code you can't call the number back it has 11 numbers not real. I realized I been had called a friend she googled the info we found out I was victim number 1000 or so. Something has to be done. I emailed her back calling her a fake an a liar she put God an someone having an accident to use me to get $450 plus the cost to wire the money totalling $490. My 12yr old son was looking forward to this dog I've been saving for months to get us a little teacup puppy. I lost the money I saved for a dog an I have no dog. This is sicking how could people get away with this. An there is nothing you can do but post it. It doesn't stop them from going to the next victim. This needs to stop. I wish everyone that to a lost. Could gain 100 fold. That's my prayer. God help us all. *Name deleted*

I'm very sorry you were scammed. Unfortunately, because of the fact that these scammers are in another country beyond the legal jurisdiction of the United States there is nothing law enforcement can do. Also, keep in mind that they use pre-paid cell phones, free email addresses, free hosting websites, aliases and pick up the money via Western Union or MoneyGram which is untraceable. Thus, even if there was legal jurisdiction, it would be difficult to catch them since few would know precisely who to arrest.

We are just volunteers trying to assist and all we can do is post the details of the scams. Many potential victims who performed an internet search (as you have, albeit too late) have been warned away from the scam through our efforts. In that regard, we would request, that you post the details of the scammers. The Western Union receiver information, any telephone numbers used, the name of the "pet shipping" company. Its details like this that warn potential victims. If you are willing to do this, you will do much more than law enforcement can do at the moment, which is nothing.
