This is worth mentioning. When you send money by Western Union, it's lost the minute the thief picks it up, but until that time, you can go back to the WU office and ask that the transfer be stopped.

This is the reason these criminals always ask that you send them the MTCN number and/or the Question and Answer as soon as possible. They waste no time in picking up that stolen money.

I lost $1850.00 on this one. Supposed insurance and shipment from Cameroon was G Shipment. They had a website and everything. It's gone now. I wish i knew about the scams before hand. The names are Muma and schwartz. They are putting capuchin monkeys up for adoption $500 USD. The cargo got stuck in france for documentation and i had to send more money before it got quarantined. The monkey was sent back to the sender go figure! There are no monkeys.

I'm sorry you where scammed by these thieves.

We have reported over 70 of these fake web sites to Tripod in the past few days, an all where quickly shut down by Tripod. It shows the determination of these criminals.

What you describe is typical of their scam. The animal, be it monkey, bulldog, yorkie, cat, parrot, is stuck in transit and more money is requested for new documents. They hope that you have build up an attachment to the animal and are using that sympathy to extort money from you.

These crooks don't own a single animal, much less an airline as they sometimes pretend to.

Beware as they may try the Recovery scam on you as they have on other victims.

Please note that it's illegal to import primates into most countries including the U.S.A. and had there been a real capuchin coming, it would never have made it through custom and you would have lost all money invested.

Yes, it's a scam. Or at least it looks almost exactly like at least a dozen other examples of the bulldog scam. These people's only "mission" is to steal your money. There's no puppy.

I repeat, it's my very strong personal opinion that you should go to your local pet store, animal shelter or puppy breeder in order to buy a dog. Don't purchase dogs over the internet. Particularly not from people in other countries. This puppy is presumably going to be coming into your house as "part of the family". You should meet your prospective pet face to face before you adopt them and make sure they come from a good environment that you've seen with your own eyes, not order them from a total stranger like they're a pair of shoes.

Also, there are strict import/export rules on moving animals from country to country. Even if you get the dog, there's a good chance it's going to suffer hours in a cold cargo hold in some plane, then get shuffled around the airport like a piece of luggage, then be held in quarantine for some time. Is that really something you want to do to an animal when there are thousands of the same breed already in your own country?

In reply to kuuipo , this is a scam. Email address edward_john_pup@yahoo.com was used in scam postings in several places.

This is an extremely busy Cameroon criminal gang and they have placed thousands of ads all over on classified sites in North America and Europe. On many sites, their ads exceed the legitimate ones.

I have never seen a single legitimate pet export from Cameroon, every single one where a scam.

As Nyla stated, trying to import an animal or bird from Africa will most surely involve a scammer, and in any case, would hardly be fair for the animal if it was legitimate. And if you are after a specific breed, and the price is ridiculously low, or free for adoption, it's likely a scam.

Well somehow God lead me to this site for me to realize that i have been scammed! :o(

I had been wanting a Yorkie for a long time but they were too expensive so i was online and i ran into this person (NDE AZHINWI) (apassorg@yahoo.com). He told me that all i needed to send was $80 and he would send the pup to me. We did that! Then i get an email from the airport (camairtravel@mail2Airport.com) saying that the puppy didn't have insurance so they needed $200. I told them that it wasn't my problem and they needed to contact the seller! So the seller kept emailing me and i told him that i wasn't sending it. so he says that they said that we could give them $100 and they would send her. I told him NO! Then he said he had the $60 all i needed to send was the $40. It took me like 2 weeks but i eventually sent it. He gave me the name FRU ELVIS to send it to because he said he couldn't pick it up cause he had an emergeny at his office and that was his secretary. Something inside of me knew it was wrong but i did it! The next day he & the airport emails me and say that the pup is at the airport and they needed the money i told him i sent it and they said no...the didn't know a FRU ELVIS. So they told me that i had been FRAUDED. So the airport emailed me the next day saying this:

We just got scammed for $350.00 for a 4 lb Maltese. We lost our a couple of years ago to congestive heart failure. This really hurt my wife and she still feels the pain. I would do anything in my power to help her. Well, I saw the ad for a Maltese puppy for $350.00. The lady said she was from Bell Fountain, AL. I saw the ad on oogle.com in the Spokane area. I contacted a local breeder and they said that they rquest wired payment for their puppies also. So I figured they were on the up and up. No such luck! I wired the money and then the nest day they sent me the shipping ticket showing the departure and arrival times in a ticket format. Leaving DOUALA and arriving in Seattle. Then I got the message of the need for insurance and then I knew that it was a scam. They wanted another $300.00 and I told them I did not have it so they lowered it to $100. Told them I still did not have it and I figured at that time I had lost the $350.00. I contacted the web site and informed them. It looks like the ads have been removed. I feel sorry for the other on there because I will not use it again. I have a letter to King5 news to sent because they are doing a special on internet pet purchases. And I will be sending the information to the IC3 site. I have all the e-mails and messgaes I have received. I still have the shipping form also.
I wish I would have heard of this site before I looked for a puppy. I just want to see the the light in my wifes eyes shine again, she has lost it since the death of Baby (our Maltese). What else can I do to help your web site?

You might want to suggest that the breeder change its practices, because asking for customer payments by wire (by which I assume you mean Western Union or Moneygram) is more or less playing with fire. It makes them look like scammers. I would personally run in the opposite direction if a breeder didn't 1) ask that I come meet the pet in person before being allowed to take it home and 2) asked me to wire money for the pet. I realize not every small business can easily afford a merchant account and take credit cards, but frankly, these days, you almost have to in order to prove you're legitimate.

Western Union itself freely says that its system is not designed for business payments. There's zero consumer protection built in, zero traceability. Anyone with the transaction information can pick it up anywhere. At least with a personal check or a credit card, there's some recourse if something goes wrong.

It's probably best to have your wife pick out a pet in person, somewhere reputable. You might also want to make sure she's actually ready to commit to a pet again. It sounds like she might not be. Pets are not interchangeable. Replacing one with a similar animal doesn't take away the hurt of losing the first. It might also be a good idea to expand your search to other breeds or shelter animals. We don't love pets because of their pedigree, we love them for themselves. And an estimated 25% of dogs in shelters are purebred. Shelter dogs are not just mutts. Breeders often drop off excess animals that they are unable to sell at shelters.

Might I suggest you look into adopting a Maltese near you, if you're set on finding a dog?

A day later a girl claming her name was Jessica Edward said, she had sold those puppies but knew a missionary named Rev. Michael was donating his puppies becuase of the weather in AFRICA!

If you find a deal on a dog from camaroon that is too good to be true it is. I wasnt scammed but almost was. My gut feeling was that something was wrong when i kept asking for contact info and they wouldnt give it to me. They wanted me to wire 200 dollars to ship the pup but I told them I would send the $ directly to the airport and they said "ok heres the e-mail"...it was kamerunairlines@yahoo.com.waiting which is funny because the original e-mail, marykabi234@yahoo.com was also a yahoo account. I googled it and up came a fraud warning. So watch out for mary kabi!!!!

I found a listing on Craigslist about a bulldog puppy needing a home, so I inquired. "All" I would of had to do is make a free will donation to the "saint marry center" and pay for 'shipping', which would have been $270.00. After asking numerous questions and not getting any straight answers within mixed, mispelled words - I had a feeling it was a scam. This "reverend sister" sent me an email with a few different 'names' and 2 different phone numbers...I tried calling both and neither worked. At first I thought the puppy was in the United States, and this 'reverend sister' said she was in Victoria...I asked numerous times what state Victoria was in and she never answered me, then from a later email from her (or him?) I realized it was in a whole other country. I was told I would have the puppy within 6 hours of it being shipped! Right! So anyways, I didn't respond again, and got this in an email from the reverend sister...

So then I did a search for the Prof Rudolf E Emboite in Cameroon, and that is how I found this site.

When posting fake documents, we always require that they be altered in such a way as to prevent other scammers from using them, which happens unfortunately.

I was just speaking to some woman who I found via craigslist. She is located in Cameroon and when I said $200 is too much when there are many free dogs with no homes, she just said ok, no adoption fee- just the price to ship. I was actually looking for prices on how much it will be to ship so she didn't over charge me on shipping and found THIS site. I e-mailed her this site and I am goin to be surprised at what she replies back. I cannot believe I almost got scammed. This is crazy. Good thing I found this site- I hope this site helps the next one she tries to scam!

FYI, the posting above is from the same gang of thieves. Once you have been robbed by these criminals, they will try to steal more from you with the recovery scam, passing off as Cameroon Justice and claiming they can have the crooks arrested and recover your money, and start charging various fees to process your documents. It's just another scam.
