A person pretending to want to buy property from me got my name and email list off loopnet.com on one of my listings.

I heard from our local police the the United State Secret Service is actually the department that handles scams like this in America. Anybody know?

Dear <admin edit - removed personal details>

Thank you very much for you urgent response to my
proposal, However it is your total commitment that
will determine the success of this transaction, the
whole success of the deal depend on you, being that
you are the person to front as the Chief Executive
Officer of the company that is due to be paid the
amount of $50,000,000 US. These funds can be only
moved out from this country by a Limited Company that
will be registered here in Nigeria to front as a
contractor whose entitlement is long due.

However I will therefore proceed to educate you more
on this transaction modalities. We are government
officials that are into this mutual beneficial
transaction.

Nigeria in the past has suffered a lot of negative
publicity from the Western world/communities simply
because of her long military rule based on this, the
new civilian regime in their bid to launder my country
image decided to take a bold step towards paying all
debts owed to contractors, By the Nigeria had at the
moment set up a body to pay up all foreign debts owed
as a result of contracts executed by foreign
companies. Following the decision of the government to
pay up debt owed to foreign contractors, I and my
colleague involved in this transaction saw it a means
and opportunity to move the $50,000,000.00 US (Fifty
Million USD) we had acquired from recent upsurge in
the price of crude oil.

Following the fact that we are still in Governmental
active service, we are restricted to operate a Foreign
account, and to transfer such hugh amount will raise
eyebrow, hence we need some one who will front as a
contractor that executed a contract here in Nigeria,
by this fronting, funds will be paid to you, and we
will all come together and shear funds between us, and
this will happen in your country.

I want to make this transaction real as if your
actually executed a contract here in Nigeria a long
time ago with Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation
(NNPC), and are due to be paid your contract sum.

We consider this opportunity as the best time to move
this money out for business purpose, Now that
different contractors are already applying for their
payments, we see this as great opportunity to apply
and claim the said fund safely, I will ensure that all necessary paperwork is done and all approvals will be secured from the appropriate governmental Ministries, your name/company name shall be included among the contractors that are to be paid in this payment Second quarter.

To achieve the objective of this transaction I am
assuring you that all will be legitimized and 100%
risk free, our strategy is to work in such a way that
the fund (US 50 Million) is released to you as
contract payment for a contract that would be
officially perceived to have been executed by you or
your company at the Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC). While the true nature of the
project is known to you and us alone till final
remittance to your nominated account.

To therefore begin, A company name has to be used to
apply for payment of the said funds, therefore we
shall incorporate/register your company in Nigeria
with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and obtain a Certificate of Incorporation bearing your company name that we are to front with, Secondly, your company name will also be registered with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). As a category “A” Special, so that it becomes a corporate company eligible to execute contracts for a Nigeria Governmental Parastatal thereby qualifying the company to do business in the country.

Thereafter we shall obtain a certificate of contract
award showing that a contract was indeed awarded to
your company, executed and commissioned; a certificate
of contract completion showing that your company
executed the contract will be awarded from the
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

You and I know that, this contract actually was not
awarded, but the need for all this processes and
documentation is to legitimize and make our request
for the accrued $50,000,000 US approved for transfer
to you, and through it all I will be spending so much
to get the necessary approval and documentations, so
funds can be paid out so we can all come together and
shear funds between us and invest and live a fulfilled
life.

If you can do this with me, do forward to me your
communication information and more detail of you such
as:
i. Your Names,
ii. Address,
iii. Company Name & Address (any company or business)
iv. Telephone Number, Fax,
v. Personal Identification such as a copy of your

international passport or driver license.( you know
the funds we want to entrust in your hands are a large
sum of money so we just want to be sure, so please
don’t take offence in our requesting for a means of identification).

Please the success of this project will be determined
by your confidentiality ability to stand and make this
demand. I will advice that you keep this transaction
as private as possible, so as not to jeopardize the
deal.

I await your urgent response and the requested
information. You are free to ask questions that bother
you regarding this proposal.

NB: Our splitting pattern is:

Of the $50,000,000: 00 US (Fifty Million USD), 60% to
I and my colleague, and 35% to you, while 5% is set
aside for miscellaneous spending In the course of
processing, but the shearing pattern is still open for discussion,

In an anticipated response, I remain,

Yours truly
Dr Godian Okocha
