Thank goodness for this site! I was almost scammed as well. It's almost funny that I have seen others post almost this same info & correspondence! This was listed on a free classified site for my state. Anyway, here is the conversation I just had with this scammer:

A house delivery isn't necessary, unless you want to. In fact she will most likely be a gift for my Mom. She's wanted a Yorkie her entire life! :o) I was hoping to surprise her with the gorgeous little darling on her birthday August 14, and until then I will be taking care of her. I am NOT a breeder! (just an animal lover!) ;o) I have one child who adores animals as well. We just adopted 4 kittens, & he hugs & cuddles them all the time! :o) I can definately take care of little Nina, and will do so happily! I do have experience, as I have 2 toy poodles & dauchsund inside now, as well as the kittens, and a standard poodle, golden retriever (for adoption,) & catahula outside. I got my oldest dog, the male (neutered) toy poodle shortly after I first married & got out on my own. He's almost 8. Just a reminder, folks. There's no point in showing a scammer this site. Showing them that there is a thread that contains details about their scam is not going to make them quit scamming. The most they will do is go out and change their email address and fake name, which actually makes it HARDER for other people to find this information and avoid being scammed.

It may make you feel "one up" on the scammer to point out how you spotted their scam, but it accomplishes nothing useful. It may even prevent others from finding out before it's too late.

This message definitely helped me. I inquired about a precious little puppy listed for adoption in the classifieds of my city's largest paper, and I got the same story as detailed below. Missionary doing work in Africa and wanting to ship her precious puppy back to the states becasue she could no longer take care of it. Carolina Mathew is the supposed Yorkie owner (and missionary) and she too asked me to contact a pet transoprtation company, after requesting my first and last name as they appear on my drivers license - which I did not provide! I was obviously very suspicious at this point and contacted the pet delivery company. I recived an e-mail from petdelivery@rocketship.com stating that the company name was Delta Pet Airline, then a subsequent email stating the name was Virgin Pet Airline.....Big red flag. The pet coordinators name was Kelvin Mike. I was researching the web to see if I could find any informaiton on pet shipping scams and luckely found this website...THANKS!!!!


I just wanted to add to the information to help anyone else that may be falling for this scam. I also thought there was a precious yorkie that was afordable and they ruined the scam by emailing me at the same time from 2 different addresses. Paster Jude proclaims that he is a missionary in Africa, and a Kelly Morgan. Also there turns out that there is a Kelvin Mike and a Kelly Rawland. They are hiding behind God saying they are honest people only taking honest peoples money. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!!! They aren't that good, this man even emailed me thinking i was another victim it's rediculous. He even went to the extent of calling me. It's craziness and needs to be stopped. he called from number 234-802-9475189 . well i hope this helps someone i know this web page helped me.

Those are usually satellite services that serves West Africa.

Canadian and US IP addresses may actually be the free webmail server as opposed to the IP of the sender. It's rather unlikely the sender is actually in Canada or the States.

I was so excited to get my English bulldog puppy too, from a seemingly very caring owner who would miss her baby. Found out today after I had sent $265 Western Union for the airport ticket that it had to be a scam after reading some sites like these. I decided to look for more information on the airport, well the fake one, to find out more about another $500 they had to have to put insurance on the puppy. Once I began to look for the information I starting coming across tons of fraud cases involving pets in Cameroon, so I refused to send anymore money. The woman claiming to send the dog and the airport both have emailed me back claiming to be upset and explain their policy as a last minute attempt to try to get me to send the money before the puppy missed his flight. The airport emailed me back and said they can send my money back when I let them know I thought it was a fraud and would not pay the insurance fee. That was just today, doubt the money will ever come though. The ad I read the classified on is now gone saying that is had been reported as a scam by another person who had probably been scammed too. I typed the name of woman in the ad and found other ad sites where she currently has ads posted. I sent an email to one notifying them it was a scam, but the other ad is located on a UK site. The name of the woman was Christine Muilla email was christinmlla@yahoo.com. Claimed she was from the US and was in Cameroon as a rep. The money was sent to an airport "cashier" Akah Elvis in Buea Douala, zip code 00237 airport email was pet_control@AirportEmail.com phone number: 23799122876 Supposed to be Douala international airport. I take this as a lesson learned. Saw a dog I adored at a great deal and jumped at the chance without thinking enough and checking things out enough. My intention was to check things out through the airport, but that don't work when it is a fake set up airport. I did try to look up the real airport number, because that airport does exist, but the number they have listed is not longer their current phone number.

i was trying to get a dog from doh bertrand he told me all he wanted was 90 dollars for the flight back because he wasnt able to spend enough time with the puppy. and then he had me transfer it using western union to his son frunwi Fredrick. and then the next day tries to get me to send him 220.99 for insurance because they wont send the dog w/o it but when i pick up the dog they will give me 200 back...i was like uh im not sending you more money and he even went to the extent of creating a new email and saying he was the pet carrier(Cameroon continental pet mover) that was going to transfer her here...but he also said on the phone, yes they called me saying they were 2 different people when they sounded the same, and on the phone said he was the one who had been emailing me but then was like no no no i have your email i havent been emailing you. so i finally sent both email address' an email saying im not sending money i will sign something saying that i will pay them when i get the dog or whatever and they stopped bugging me. i wasnt worried about eh 90 bucks but i dont want some1 else to send them money so i thought i would share.

I had made a post on a local board looking for a basset hound puppy for a gift. I had recieved an email stating this person had a puppy, last in the litter and asked me to email them back as soon as possible.
After a few emails back and forth about this puppy, health ect. They stated their information, and requested payment by western union and how they would take care of the adoption fee for me and all i had to pay was the 260$ to get the puppy sent by air to me. They also stated how the airport would even deliver the puppy to me free of charge.
Well after speaking with my sister about this puppy and all, we thought it would be a great idea to get it. She was all ready to run out and get the money sent by western union. Ive been fighting with myself trying to decide wether or not to actually go through with it. Well I decided to check my email one more time to see if there was a message left by the owner of this dog i was supposed to purchase. Something just didnt feel right to me, so i did a google search which led me here, and i am so thankful i did!!

The cute yorkie puppies I was looking at in the local thristy nickel were free and the other was for $100. I received two emails back from different pictures I had inquired about in the local, Lubbock, TX, thrifty nickel. It was the same as everyone on here, blah blah blah. She had surgery and had to go out of the country back to Cameroon, but would ship her out for free and praise to god I would love her. What a croc! I'm so glad I found this website before I lost my hard earned money to a bunch of crooks overseas. I thought it was a local puppy, but apparently not.

The person who replied couldn't even get his scam straights his email back to me was thanks for interest on my puppies. Please beware of all ad that are posted by Jaabu. I've been checking them out to see if they are ligit or not. I can honestly say that 99% of the ads are scammers from the cameroon. Please don't post personal email addresses in the open forum. Primarily because it leads to getting it picked up by more scammers and spammers as they troll the internet looking for new addresses.

I'm afraid finding the scammer and getting your money back is just not possible. Scammers use completely anonymous or fake details. Law enforcement has a hard enough time finding the rare scammers who commit crimes large enough to draw attention and who leave enough evidence to lead to an arrest. Finding one on your own and actually getting any money back is just not going to happen.

Anyone claiming they can recover money lost to a scam is almost certainly a recovery scammer. They charge fees and such for their "services", and quite often, they're the same scammer you lost money to in the first place. Frankly, I'm not aware of a single pay service or amateur that has ever managed to recover money directly from a scammer.

I started to buy a kinkajou from Ngala Julius in Sweden. It was supposedly on its way when it got held up in pet customs. After a little run around, it came down to they wanted $400 sent to:

I had heard about scams from Africa, but I should have known not to trust anything that I couldn't pick up personally. I guess I just want others to know that these people aren't always connected to Cameroon/Africa openly.

I just came accross a scam on Kijiji(a site owned by ebay). This site is used for local and free ads. This ad seemed to disappear as soon as I replied to it. They were advertising Hyancinth Macaws at 750.00 each, and there were two. I know here in Canada, they wholesale for about 5000-8000, so I thought, what the heck, let's see what this is about.
The guy who seemed very nice was using the name Bill Sunday. He told me he was "currently" in Cameroon Africa. The email was sundbill_pets@yahoo.com, and the phone number he gave me was 011-237-9662-0010. He wanted me to send him 500.00 for shipping to Canada. I could tehn pay him for the birds upon their arrival. I suspected fraud so started playing around with him for a bit. I told him that my attorney was looking into this matter, and he was quite happy about that. This showed that I was responsible apparently. He was in a real hurry to get this resolved. Well I had more time. He changed his story a few times. First he had them from a local breeder in the area. Then he was getting rid of them as his daughter was allergic. Then he had an import/export business. The list went on. I told him that I would only deal with a shipping company of my choice and would make the arrangements myself. I told him that I was more comfortable paying the shipping cost directly to the compnay myself.He kept agreeing, even though I could feel he was getting impatient. What I did today was research, and found your website. I proceeded to post your website address in ads under animals and birds for sale on Kijiji where I found him. When asked by him in his last email as to why I was so skeptical? I sent him an email with your website address as well. This should answer his question. My last email to him, was basically telling him that he could pay the whole shipping upfront, and I would reimburse him the amount of the shipping, the cost of the birds and some extra for his time. I doubt that I will be hearing back from him. Perhaps he is as frusterated as some of the other people he has managed to scam. Thanks for being here and looking out for us Fraudwatchers.

I did a little search and noticed the above email address attached to an ad relating to an english dog for adoption and it sounds like the "Godlove" person that was mentioned in one of the other threads.

No sooner did I send a scammer a link to this website, and refuse to work with him, I come on line this morning only to find this ad listed on Kijiji( an Ebay owned site used for free local ads only by the way). If they've got your address, keep an eye on your credit rating for a while. That's the most common use that a scammer has for an address, is to take out credit in a victim's name. And they may, possibly, try to send you cheques to cash and send back the difference by WU. If that's the case take the cheques to the police.

Hello Debs1, welcome to the forums,

I hate to say it but you've to accept that the money is gone forever. There's no way to get it back or to prosecute the scammer as all informations that you have are bogus. There's no dog, no missionary worker, no woman. Just you and the scammer. It sounds easy to say, but you can be glad that you didn't lose more. Many victims have lost 4 digit sums and more in this scam.

One of the best ways I found to deal with these scammers is that when I get an e-mail form one, I report it to their e-mail hosting service for fraud. Many many have lost their e-mail accounts. yeah, they can just register again, but in the meantime,all the adds they posted with that e-mail are useless. Anyone they were trying to scam suddenly is out of touch.

Ha, this is an interesting takee 'you can have a free puppy if you post an add for me". Guess the website in question blocked the scammers IP addresses.
