I've received this email today, which is a scam - so beware!! One thing I have learned is that if you're unsure whether it's a scam - Google EVERYTHING in the email i.e. the company name, sender's name, address and even the phone number. Nine times out of ten if it is a scam, it will come up on Google.

Things to watch for regarding the fake lotteries such as the Honda one and others:

The email sender is using a free email account and in this case, it is live.com

Sender using telephone number +44 704 57644 23. +4470 numbers are personal forwarding numbers. They appear to be London numbers at first glance but in reality, they can be forwarded to any phone in the world, usually a scammer's mobile.

Any alleged lottery that asks for any payment up front or prior to paying any winnings is a scam - period.

Lotteries never send emails or phone winners – It is the responsibility of the winner to contact the lottery.

A ticket must be purchased in order to participate in a lottery. It is illegal for a US citizen to participate in a foreign lottery.
