Hi all
I am embarresed to say i hve been been the victim of a business deal scam from a company listed on alibaba.com.
Here is the posting i made on their forum.
Any help in this matter would be most welcome.


Has anyone dealt with any of the above names?
Asking as i have and been conned, first deal to.

Store Base Incorporated no longer exists on this site now, so probably trading under a different name.

Also the delivery CTN Express courier service does exist and is a registered company, but is on on their scam, as they will not deliver any goods, and now say they want £200 to hire a van lol.

So please be aware of courier services to, we checked them out, had tracking number, they even called, but now they answer to no emails.

We have reported these to Post master general, who over see the courier firms, awaiting replyfrom them.
nigerian police and the regulatory body of couriers.

As they also claimed money through secure information (again giving false id) also reported for fraud.

Anyone who can help with any info would be most gratefull, any other ways to exploit these scammers and im in. about time something was done. Yes this site is not liable they only give information to help, but it still is not good enough, we are only trying to earn a living for the best possible money we have, i know there is some geniune ppl out there.

We may be able to get the storebaselimited.com and ctnxpress.com sites shut down by contacting the webhosts. Thanks for the info.

If you want to get back at them a bit, go to a site like www.scambaits.com and learn the art of baiting.

Don't know about him, but most West Africans trying to conduct business on the internet will turn out to be scammers, sad but true. Especially those in Lagos, Nigeria and if they try to sell mobile phones or other tech gadgets. Some other things to avoid is anyone trying to pay with a check, or anyone who wants to be paid through Western Union. The only reason to use WU in a business transaction is if you want to remain anonymous, so it's what scammers typically use.

Note the UK +44 70... numbers. Those are a kind of premium rate numbers that can be forwarded to anywhere in the world, often used by scammers as it allows them to pretend to be in the UK and therefore avoiding the reputation of Nigeria. It also provides another layer of anonymity.

You my good man are a diamond,it is now my mission to track and trap as many scammers as i can.
Even if it only saves 1 person from getting scammed then all the time spent on finding all the details on bogus companys will be more than worth it.

Trust me, it does help. Both of those fake courier sites had several recent victims, and there would have been more. It also costs the scammers quite a bit of money (especially by Nigerian standards) to set up those sites. So they are probably not very happy at all right now :lol:

The forums at aa419.org is the place to go to report fraudulent websites. Both me and Rob are also members there, and if you report one here we will either try to take it down ourselves or post it over at aa419 for someone else to deal with. You can of course post them there directly instead, but in the case with storebaselimited.com I already had ;)

Got to ask yourself why they are asking for Western Union. Instant for them, no protection for you. If they are serious, tell them that you want to pay COD courier delivery and that you will pay the extra fees. That will sort them out quickly. I'd be interested to hear their response/excuses.

I should probably do research before posting something like this, but in Iraq (as a soldier), refering to someone as "Alibaba" meant they were a liar or thief. The whole site rings those warning bells in my head, but that;s just an opinion.

Alibaba has had many legit companies, unfortunately I keep finding, and sometimes funding (*shucks*) the wrong ones.
