Western Union is not an escrow service and on their website they specifically warn you against using it as such. Any such setup is virtually guaranteed to be a fraud. Rest assured if you send that money and pass on the details from the wire slip the criminal will pick up the cash and walk away without a trace.

Gangs that run such scams have access to fake ID. They would have no problem in coming up with ID in whatever name you give as the recipient and get the cash, assuming ID will be checked at all which not all WU agents worldwide do.

Western Union and online transactions don't mix. Only use WU with people you know from real life, such as your immediate family. Do not use WU with anyone you only know by email, EVER!
