Hey :)

this looks very much like a job-scam attempt. We've an article about it here: http://fraudwatchers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=257

Although the website that has been mentioned is empty at the moment, we *may* be able to get it shut down (sooner or later). Could you post the email with all the header informations, that would help. :)

dgrecruitment.com was registered only a few days ago, and is owned by the same folks that own dgrecruit.com which is blacklisted at jwSpamSpy (http://www.joewein.de/sw/blacklist.htm)

Rob is right. If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck...well, you know the rest.

Yes this sounds like a scam. Especially because he is using a free @yahoo.com email address that anyone could have signed up for. And he's asking for an advance fee...

You can contact the real Everton FC here and ask them about it:
http://www.evertonfc.com/contact/index.php?page_id=5

You can also see that all the email addresses there end in @evertonfc.com, so anyone using anything else and claims to be working for Everton is likely to be a scammer.

Could you please post the initial email they sent you?

Please you are not required to travel with the photo copy of the visa we informed you that we will sent to to you the original copy. i would advise you to exercise patience as we will definitely send you the original copy and your ticket.
Arsenal agents demanded to meet in the trial. however i gave them your information but i will advise you that you do not have any discussion with them as we will arrange every thing if they are so desperate to meet you.
More so, be aware that the visa must not be advertised as we are in special arrangement with Thailand Foreign Affairs office as regards to the visa waiver issuance for our invited players. attached is Payer Agent Agreement for your perusal you do not have to sign it but go through it. it will be signed when you finally get a club.

If it's from the same person, then yes, this guy is just trying to scam you.

Please provide more information, it is a bit hard to follow what is really going on here ;)

Which informations again? i have received personal and employment information. I received also a picture from the embassy saying it is your picture. But a passport size photograph ("3cmx3cm" or "5cmx5cm") would have been better. Any way, i will use the picture provided by the embassy.

Why you are needed to be backed up by the court is to prepare a premium work permit on your behalf. This permit will allow you to take any employment within the income range of $2 500.00 and $64 000.00 when you get to USA. With the permit, you cannot get a job above $1500.00 in the USA.

The embassy asked you to contact me for the permit form and to obtain it on your behalf here in Nigeria, because the embassy preparing your visa is in Nigeria.

payment information again is;
Name: Udochukwu Nwaozuzu
Location: Owerri, Nigeria

Do not make any mistake in the name and the location. Any mistake will not allow my clerk to confirm your payment.

Stanley.

Definite scam. They want you to pay through Western Union or Moneygram. They use those services only because it allows them to remain anonymous.

May I inform you that your ticket is ready but after the management staff meeting yesterday it was agreed that every invited players are to now pay US$IOOO refundable fee. this money is refundable after the football trial it is a security for our ticket. this came up after it was discovered that some invited players sold the tickets and did not appear for the trial especially players invited from Africa. this resulted to the emergency meeting that was held yesterday and the US$1000 resolution was passed

Please we are terribly sorry for the inconvenience but you have to pay the US$1000 refundable fee through the same medium Western union money transfer and on the same name.

Please, be aware that you are not the only candidates that is asked to pay this refundable fee but all the invited players who are not yet in camp. we are sorry to inform you that it is not racial discrimination but to avoid our last experience. but we assure you that as soon as you have paid this refundable fee we will send you all the documents.

We also would like to inform you that this has to be done as soon as possible so that you can meet up with time.

I doubt very much the "fee" would ever be refunded. This still appears to be a scam. The Yahoo address, the non-standard English, the request for a very large fee payable through Western Union, an anonymous, largely untraceable wire service...

As Daneel pointed out earlier, you can contact EvertonFC and they will surely tell you this person does not work for them. From the link Daneel provided:

I think if you email the appropriate department, they will confirm what we have said. That this is a scam.

Hi Edouard,

You don't give us much information, so it's not possible to give you any kind of firm answer.

I'd say that a really good project manager *could* earn US$18900 per month. But it would be a *huge* project... build a skyscraper or something of that scale. Are you anywhere near that good?

How did they approach you? If you're hiring someone like that, I'd say there would be several face-to-face meetings. It wouldn't be just done by email. And certainly not via Yahoo or Hotmail accounts.

Are they asking for fees? For visas or whatever? Was Western Union or Moneygram mentioned?

Is a West African country mentioned?

Try a Google for 'technip scam' -- there does seem to be a fair bit of it going on in that name. See if any of the hits looks like what you have. Also try Googling for the (possible) scammer's name, email address, or phone number.
