The story aired a few minutes ago, discussing scambaiting, and how the folks we deal with online are serious business.

If you've never been to fraudwatchers, it's a great resource for information. Look around, check out the other links from this site. The Fraudwatchers team has a wealth of useful info here.

I especially like the storyline: from fun baiting to how victims fall for it and then to the fact that these are dangerous criminal gangs in one smooth and short story.

Kudos mate, I'll have to share this with those in my family who think I'm a bit weird for having such an enjoyment in doing what we do:P

Thanks for sharing, Skip. Great article, and good work for going on the air and helping the fight. Just think of how many potential victims are helped, in advance, every time one of these stories airs.

I heard from a friend with contacts in the Minneapolis Secret Service division.

After the article aired, they had a considerable increase of phone calls from people who were worried they were being victimized.

Yesterday, they played another article on online scams using the information from the three of us who took part in the interview, and that did it's part to keep the calls coming in.

They put two stories on this in one of America's larger cities, and people who were being victimized are getting freed of their scams.

I'm on cloud 9 :)

Okay, good stuff here. After the story aired, I wasn't going to post it anywhere, because for one, my face was shown in my interview. Then the revelation hit me that I could just blur that out. So I fired up the editor, and covered the baiter's faces with a thick gaussian blur :)

If you'd like to watch the safe versions of the article CLICK HERE (http://daily419.com/dl.htm) to go to a page to download them. I put them onto a download page because doing so helps me maintain the space

If you want to read the transcript, go to Fox 9 (http://fox9.com)'s website.

And like I said, a lot of people got out of scams after seeing these articles. That's pretty cool.

This is a great interview. You detailed the 419 scam so thoroughly in a fairly limited time frame. Every one of us who work with victims is grateful. Fantastic job.
