Yes, this is a scam.

UK phone numbers starting in +44 70 are "special service" numbers. Such numbers can be programmed to forward calls to anywhere in the world. They are often used by criminals in Nigeria or other African countries to create the illusion that they are based in the UK.

You will rarely see a UK business using a +44 70 number, as these numbers are very costly to call (about US$0.90/minute).

A combination of a Yahoo email address and a +44 70 number almost always means it's a 419 scam by a gang in Nigeria.

Indeed, a scam... this almost identical email was doing the rounds last month as below - I have highlighted the main differences but in general hardly anything is actually changed on the bulk sent email:

Different dates, and of course a different disposable, free email address. Because they send out quite literally millions of these emails, they do not have the time to tailor replies or responses for everyone; hence the lack of personal greetings on these messages.

What they do want??? Money for the fee or anything else???

Money for fees, generally. However, they will also take any personal information you can provide, and some of them are quite adept at either recycling your information to scam others and look more legitimate, or using your information to get credit in your name.

Yes, this is absolutely a scam.

Woolwich are not a "bank" as such - they are (were) a building society (financial institution) and are actually owned by, and are part of, Barclays Bank plc. No-one would ever describe them as "Woolwich Bank PLC" simply because it doesn't exist.

The telephone numbers are from a "follow-me" service provider, that redirects calls to these numbers to virtually anywhere in the world - in this case, probably Nigeria.

The email address "accountant.com" is a free anonymously derived webmail account provided by mail.com to anyone; there is no need to enter any real information when applying for such an account.
