Here is one for you...just not sure where to post this.

My husband (before we discovered each other) was on Match.com site. He had been approached by a young (in photos and description) lady by the name of Jessica Maxwell. Its a fake name of course. She struck up several conversations with him, said she was a student in the UK and that she wanted to meet him but counld not aford it. She asked him to send her the money to buy a ticket...he did. She was never on an airplane and even faked an airline booking confirmation and flight details. He was too trusting and believed her right up to the time the plane was to land.

I did a little investigating myself a few months after we met and i heard the story (he ad the emails, etc.). I trace this person all the way to Nigeria and found out it was realy a guy and had been running the same scam on many people.

Funny (sad) part is, he didnt have a lot of money. It cost him nearly $2000 for the fake ticket. Here is how she/he was tempted. He was 39 and a girl that in her photos was early 20's was interested in him. These people target guys/gals out of their league. The photos she sent were 'canned" images from magazines.

Its horrible what these people do to others!!

The dating scams are really the worst type of scam there is. We have a sister site dedicated to it here, where you can find more information and many people who have shared their stories:
