I received an email that I won 350,000.00 Euros from a monthly draw of emails. I respnded with my name, add, number and claim number and now I received 3 emails, one from an attroney, the delivery department, and one from the Irish lottery dept. Should I be worried because I gave my address? Is this a scam???

Thanks.

Welcome to Fraudwatchers!

Yes, the email you received is indeed a scam. You can find a description of lottery scams here:

http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=255

I see from your other post that you have responded with some of your personal information. Your course of action is pretty simple: stop communicating with those people. Once you stop responding, they will soon move on to more interested targets.

And just FYI, other people received the same scam email as well. See here:

Hello bravo1029 and welcome to our website. As Mata has explained above, this is a common format for an attempted fraud.

For the sake of convenience I have merged your other posts into this thread.

No. The scammers aren't interested in you (unless you give them money). They receive dozens of "applications" each day.

They almost certainly won't bother to come round and visit you.

They may try phoning you. If they do, just hang up. Or tell them that they've got the wrong number. Or that you know they're a scammer and to go away.

Perhaps, in future, you might avoid this concern by being a little more cautious about giving out your identity information.
