I received this email today April 18,2006 but when i try to call the person they ask me to mcall for assitance that person wouldn't speak to me an only asked me which contry i leave and send him and email. it's the reason i try to find more information about this company "Global Megal Lottery" and i find Fraudwatchers.

This is a scam, as well. Among other things, there is no such thing as an "email lottery". You cannot win a lottery you don't enter. Generally, by buying a ticket. That money for jackpots has to come from somewhere, right?

Also, no legitimate lottery employee would have a free Yahoo address.

No lottery called "Global Mega Lottery" exists in South Africa. In fact there is not a single legitimate lottery worldwide that carries either the word "Global" or "International" in its name. The reason is that lotteries in general are only licensed to operate in one country (anti-gambling laws in many countries would make international lotteries a legal minefield).

Phone numbers that start with +27 7 or +27 8 are mobile phones in South Africa. Real lotteries do not tell winners to call some guy with a mobile phone to claim a prize. The scammers use mobile phones because

a) there is no address associated with the number where the police could knock on a door and

b) they are the only kind of phone they can use in an Internet cafe, which is where they generally send such "winning notifications" from and where they answer calls from "winners".
