I would have to say my suspicion is raised. They seem to be showing pictures of branded products, such as Apple iPods, Sony laptops and various mobile phones. It's highly, highly unlikely that they actually carry all of these brands and can sell them to you any cheaper than a supplier in your own country. A post here http://www.chinatechnews.com/2005/12/14/3170-beijing-consumer-association-identifies-two-fake-online-shopping-sites/ seems to indicate they sent mobile phones that did not function. I would have to say it's more likely they actually sell copycat goods that mimic these brand names. One way to tell would be for you to contact Motorola directly and ask if they are indeed a manufacturer of the V3i.

Be aware, though, that even if this is a legitimate manufacturer, it's still risky to pay by Western Union, Moneygram or to a bank account held by an individual, as opposed to being in the company name. Should there be a problem with the order, you're completely at the mercy of the seller.

In general, it's much smarter and safer to deal only with suppliers in your own country or a list of suppliers from the manufacturer. It would be a very, very good idea to closely read Daneel's post here http://www.fraudwatchers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9729 before you even consider ordering goods from China.

[All electronic products out of China are copies, fakes fraud.
I spent the last three weeks 12 hours a day contacting over 150 companies in China. I got all these contacts from 2 sources, Tradekey and EC21. I was told by every one of these companies that they carried Name brand electronic products like Dell, Apple, and many others at discounted products. Every one of these companies would only do business with Western Union, Money Gram or Electronic bank Transfer also know as T/T. I am a power seller on Ebay selling other products but not really making a lot of money I decided to try selling electronics I am trying to get a online business going, I have every thing in place I just need some good suppliers so that I can be competitive on Ebay and Amazon. I use to be very successful, top in my field in selling certain electronic items, I use to own several very large companies and I thought that I could do this again on line.

Western Union will tell you that there is so much fraud coming out of China that they will tell every one not to send Western Union to China. I was told about one man who bought $200.00 of merchandise and he received the merchandise and the company told him if you order a large quantity that you will get a huge discount so he did and he received a picture of a large quantity of the product and was out thousands of dollars. I was in a desperate situation I needed to get this business going and I almost let my better judgment get clouded and I would have lost a lot of money.

Putian lizhi trade co.,ltd is just one of the companies that almost got my money until I saw this fraud alert. What should have tipped me off is that she would not take a credit card, PayPal or Escrow.com but what really got me was she wanted a Western Union in her name I then asked if she had electronic transfer since she did not take credit cards, PayPal or Escrow.com and she sent me the transfer information and it was in her name again it should have been in a company name. She was sending me emails at 1:00 and 2:00 in the morning in China which meant she was waiting for my Western Union conformation number to go to the Western Union to get the money. I then stopped looking at the dollar sings in front of me of all the money I was going to make and the real business man stood up and I started doing my due diligence. I then decided to do some research. I figured out the only way to find out if a company is legitimate or a fraud is that you can hire a company for as little a $295.00 to check out the company you want to do business with. As soon as I told these companies that I wanted a company to come buy and inspect their business for me they did not want any more to do with me. This is standard business practice, when I did business with a new company in the US I never did business with them until I saw their operation to see if they could actually handle my business.

I made a lot of calls to China and I contacted over a 150 companies by email every one of them said they carried only Name brand products original not used or refurbished, they even advertise this on their sight with Tradekey and EC21. They will tell you that they have a 1 year international warranty, they will tell you that they have great customer service and that if there is ever a problem that they will resolve it . Here is the real news none of the companies that do electronics business in China sell you original name brand products, they are all copies, they may or may not have the fake brand name on them but they are not brand name and they do not have a international warranty because they are not make by the name brand company.

How do I know this since I did not buy anything myself?
I actually found one honest businessman who talked to me for about an hour on the phone and he did me a huge favor he told me the truth. China does not make any of the name brand electronic products like Dell, Apple, Toshiba, Sony Play Station, Xbox 360, Nintendo WII or many of the other American branded products like many people believe they are all copies and the technology is not as good as the originals. This man carried some of the original items that I was interested in and some off brand products but he was very clear in telling me you will not save money buying name brand products from China and every one who is telling you that they sell name brand products cheap are selling copies and you will be disappointed in the quality. Why do I think he was telling me the truth well he was the only one who told me this and he also was the only one who took credit cards, and pay pal, and he offered to sell me non brand name products if that was what I was looking for, not one of the other companies would even consider this.

You are thinking that is one person telling you this and this is true but out of 150 companies that gave me their prices and they were all dirt cheap all of them wanted Western Union or money gram, some of them took electronic transfer but they all wanted it in a individual name not a company name and that is also a big red flag. Out of all 150 once I told them that I wanted to have a representative company meet with them for me to make sure that the product was not a copy, that they were who they say that the are and that their company was capable of handling my business they all either would not return my email or they would tell me that they were not interested. Also I did some more research and none of the products that I was interested in had plants in China.

The fact is that if all these companies would lie about selling original name brand product and if you actually did receive any thing what do you think they will do if there is a problem they got your money they lied to you in the beginning what do you think they will do.

I am not saying every company in China is crooked because if you look on the web you have hundreds of thousands of companies in the US claiming to be a wholesaler, drop shipper or a distributor of goods and they are only doing $150,000 to $1,000,000 a year in business. That is not a wholesaler, or a distributor or even a drop shipper, that is a scam and there are tons of them.

I could give you a complete list of all the companies that I contacted but you can depend that if any company in China tells you they are selling original name brand electronics that they are one on my list.

When doing business check and double check it is better to be safe than sorry

I am still looking for some legitimate suppliers for electronic suppliers if any one knows of some.

The best way to prevent fraud is to do due deligence, which I have been telling and helping US companies while identify suppliers and develop markets for them. Please let me know what you are looking for, I may be able to assist.
